The Light My Fork Spork Original BIO is the perfect reusable spork to avoid using one time use cutlery. It was designed specifically for us by Scandinavian designer Joachim Nordwall. This spork is a spoon-fork-knife since it has a serrated edge on the side of the fork. This makes it versatile enough to use whether you are backpacking, having a picnic, or just grabbing some lunch to go. If you are using to cook in the backcountry know that it is safe to use with non-stick cookware. It also uses BPA-free Biobased plastics that are dishwasher safe, making them easy on the environment and easy to clean. This kit includes four Light My Fire Original Sporks.

I used these for backpacking/camping for years, then they moved to daily lunchbox duty. With heavy usage they do break. But that’s fine—they aren’t expensive and I still got years of use out of them. I wanted to replace them for an upcoming trip, and bought the vibrantly colored ones of a different brand that come in a set of 8. Those are sharp and have rough edges and I returned them. I wish the hiking world would get together and decide a color scheme. A spork is great, but when you attach the knife to the spork, how are you supposed to hold the food in place while cutting it? We bought these to use as an extra, but no one ever remembers what color belongs to their mess kit. (Some of us chew on plastic less than others) ... show more

I use these for my lunchbox, to be totally honest. My one and only gripe is the width of the spoon. It is a little wide for me so I know for sure it would be uncomfortable for a child. It is quite large even compared to the fork on the other end. It is shaped well though and not totally unmanageable. Definitely the size of the "big spoons" in your kitchen drawer. I love the colors that were chosen. They are quiet yet fun. They don't draw attention but keep me from losing the utensils in the bottom of my lunchbox. The knife it sharp serrated enough to be usable but not sharp in a way where you hurt your mouth on it. The tines of the fork are strong enough to eat a salad with. Something I can't say about my last set. All in all, I'm exceptionally happy with these! I'll adjust to the size of the spoon I think others just need to be away in case they purchase for their family. ... show more

Unlike the traditional spork that has one end of the utensil try to be both fork and spoon, and does both badly as a result, the LightMyFire spork does an excellent job of being fork, spoon, and knife all in one. While they're designed for camping, I mainly use them to avoid using disposable flatware when bringing my lunch to work. The use of non-petroleum-based plastics in this particular product is a definite plus, as is the fact that they're easy to toss in the dishwasher when you get home, or hand-wash if you prefer. I've been using this brand of spork for over a decade now, and have been mostly happy with it. BE WARNED: There is a tradeoff here. Lightweight design means that these sporks have handles that can break across the middle, and tines that might come off if you're too rough with them. To keep your sporks clean and undamaged in your knapsack or lunchbox, please consider buying a Spork Case. This goes double if you're buying them for a kid who tends to sling their lunchboxes around. ... show more
