The dome I ordered was the larger green and tan Geometric Climbing Dome What arrived was this red and blue "smaller" dome. You will want to set aside plenty of time and space to assemble this dome. No matter which size you select, the assembly is the same. Instructions are very poor, but once you start figuring out the images, you're on your way. I found the plastic hand holds to be very nice, firm, and easy to grab for climbers young and old. The ends of the bars should be sprayed with some sort of rust proofing such as WD-40 as they are composed of carbon steel and would otherwise quickly rust. I weigh 191 lbs and climbed all over the dome, including dangling under the center and it was/is very VERY sturdy once assembled. The paint is not smooth, so easy for grabbing and climbing. I also suggest spraying WD-40 or other rust inhibitor into the tiny holes near the ends of the pipe portions as that will also help slow rusting. I definitely recommend this Dome Climber Play Center. Our five year old grandsons love it and it's tall enough to give them a good challenge! CAUTION - please read the seller feedback area carefully before buying this. They shipped this unit to me, knowing they were substituting a smaller, less expensive version. When contacted, they refused to refund the difference in price stating "it's not allowed based on our policies". I was saving them return shipping costs, and offered to accept the substitution if they simply refunded the difference. They simply kept my money and gave only a 70% refund of the difference after several messages. Be aware, that's all I can say. SAD TO SAY THE LEAST ... show more

    • Surprisingly easy to assemble
I honestly thought it was gonna suck to put this together, but it actually wasn't that bad. Once built, it's definitely sturdy. I weigh 195ish pounds and climbed to the top to hang upside down and we didn't notice any sagging/moving/instability of any kind. We ended up with me, my wife, and both kids on it, and it seemed to hold the weight just fine. The kids love it, and the blue/green color combo actually looks really cool. We actually agreed that if there was some kind of bridge/monkey bar that could connect two of these, we'd definitely buy the whole kit. We've seen that you can hang hammocks in these, so we're gonna add one of those. This thing + the swingset keeps the kids occupied for hours, so it's definitely a win in our book ... show more

This is such a nice climbing dome. The paint is steadfast and the bars are heavy duty. Our kids love the size too. I think it was worth getting the bigger one. If you are competent putting things together, you won't have any problems following the directions to assemble this, but you must have a second person to hold things together otherwise parts fall over as you work. I noticed that some climbing domes were cheaper but I went with this one bc many commented that the instructions were clear. I agree! It does require two adults. It seems very study. The the YouTube instructions were very helpful as well as the written ones

My son assembled for me. this is truly a quality piece of playground equipment. The metal is coated so it is not shiny and smooth and so it will not get as hot and is easier to grip, this is one of the best features. Took my son 2 1/2 hrs to assemble. I also added two hanging items inside on the top bars of the dome. My grandkids loved it! ... show more

This was hard to build, it took me alone 2 days. I would suggest 2 or 3 people and run to the hardware store and get 10 more of the large screws for the bottom, trust me, the short ones they provide are not long enough. Other then that I have a 8 year old and a 6 year old and they really like it

I got this because we can’t go to the park during lockdown and I am impressed! Easy assembly (I put together by myself in about four hours) and very sturdy. My husband and I have already climbed all over it! Instructions were very clear and all parts were well-labeled. The one drawback is that the lowest rungs are a bit high for my 48” kiddo (my husband is 6’ and even he commented on how high the lowest bars were) but we put a stepladder beside it to help her get up. A couple assembly tips: they tell you to fully tighten the screws early on but don’t do it until you get the circle completed. There’s no way you could get the angles right by just eyeballing it before you connect it all together. Secondly, I obsessively followed all the diagrams for which way to stack the poles but the lower hand-holds had to go on sideways. No biggie since they work that way as well, it’s just the logo is sideways. ... show more

My family is very happy with this climbing dome. It was straightforward to assemble but did require at least 2 people to assemble (easier with 3 people). My husband and i can lift it up to move it to mow without difficulty but it is very stable and sturdy while my children (6 and 4) are climbing on it. Their 10 and 8 year old cousins also love to climb on it. The 4 year old can only climb up a bit but hes having fun and going higher everytime he plays on it. I was concerned about the bars heating up in the sun because we do not have any shade in our yard. The bars do feel warm on a very hot day, but not too warm to climb on. Both my boys say it's not too hot when I ask on very sunny days. ... show more
