  • prepare for a huge project with huge payoff
I read all the reviews before purchasing this and nothing could prepare me for the frustration of building this thing. It was a much bigger project then I imagine from just a simple swing set. The video on YouTube is super helpful. What he does in 45 minutes will take you 45 hours, because what the video and directions don't show you is the difficulty of lining up the ridiculous bolts and screws they provide you. You will need 2 people for most of this project sometime 3 people if you are 5ft tall like myself. The two person requirement is more for lining things up most of the time. Like other have done I took a few bolts to the hardware store and bought a handful of the same type but a 1/4 -1/2 longer so that I could get them lined up. Don't let my review scare you. If you have another able body and time this is completely doable. If you do not have another person to help you I would pass. The Adventure tower once built is sturdy, well built ( because I built it) and nice material. we have had no rusting that others have mentioned. Our 5 year old twins use it daily. I think it's a Huge Project but has Huge pay off. Also be prepared to store 3 HUGE boxes. All the hardware and materials are clearly labeled. An impact drill and socket wrench will be your best friend. Like I state before, It's not really a complicated build, The bolts are just difficult to work with making it a harder project then necessary. ... show more

  • Harder to assemble than it should be
Putting this together we found that the screws used are 1/4" shorter than they should be. This makes it three times harder to get them into their holes. They fit, but just barely. We ended up buying screws that were that 1/4" longer and it became a reasonably easy job to finish it off. There were also two pipes that were not labeled but we figured out where they went through trial and error. The instructions are clear, on a par with Ikeas. The boxes arrived undamaged and we checked all the contents and found that everything was there. My granddaughters are 5 and 8 and will get many years of play out of this set. It really is a well thought out design and plenty big enough for growing kids to play with until they are 12 or so. The set is sturdy and sits firmly on the ground. With both girls swinging on it, there is no movement from the whole unit and the feet stay in place. The cost was a little over our budget but we think the quality of this set is worth it. Altogether we are pleased with this purchase, even with the inconvenience of the short screws. ... show more

  • Great investment!
Amazing quality play structure. It was difficult finding something that was not wood and within a reasonable price range. Assembly wasn’t necessarily difficult but there were A LOT of parts so it was time consuming. It took us about 3 days to put it all together. The ladder is a little dangerous as they are smooth round and far apart, my 3 year old daughter slipped and fell through the bars at the top. We ended up coating the bars with flex seal and sand to give them some grip and it worked perfectly, no accidents since. Over all we are extremely pleased with this swing set and would highly recommend it to anyone who had a large back yard (it takes up a minimum of 30’x30’) ... show more

  • Excellent quality. Packaging not great.
Overall, the quality is excellent. I wanted something I can sit on with my children. I'm 260lbs and didn't feel like it was going to break when I sat on it. No sag at all when I sit on the swing. When I was assembling the upper part my knees did sink into the plastic platform a bit but wasn't a real issue. Packaging was fair, not great. Slide was damaged and missing hardware but I got through it. Nails from the pallet poked through the box and scraped the paint off some supports but I plan on contacting lifetime for some touch up paint to avoid rust. Instructions were ok. Only complaint about that was most things were not labeled. As others have said platform doesn't line up great for the self tap screws. I would recommend only drilling the two center holes and setting the platform on the frame. Then outline from below and you can get a better idea before drilling the other holes. Most will not be exact center of the knock outs. Another suggestion would be when attaching the roof to the posts reverse the direction of the bolts. Especially if you're working alone it will attach easier. Mine is set at the base of a slope so I rearranged the layout a bit. I only had to drill two additional holes and there was enough hardware in the spare bag to cover the holes I didn't use. I would not recommend doing this unless you're handy. You'll need to add additional washers where the slide and ladder attach. Zip tied some bird spikes to the top and it completely eliminated the bird poop issue. ... show more

  • GOOD STURDY PLAYSET
LOVE THIS PRODUCT! PURCHASED THIS SET A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO AND HAVE NO REGRETS. TOOK 3 OR 4 ADULTS TO PUT IT TOGETHER, BUT TO NO FAULT OF THE COMPANY. THE DIRECTIONS WERE GOOD JUST A BIT TIME CONSUMING. FREE STANDING AND STURDY. THE KIDS LOVE IT! MY SON HAD PURCHASED ON OF THOSE MORE EXPENSIVE WOODEN ONES FOR HIS 5 YEAR OLD AND IS CONSTANTLY HAVING TO TIGHTEN THE SCREWS AND BOLTS SO IT DOESN'T SWAY. HE ALSO HAD TO ANCHOR IT. I HAVE 3 OF MY GRAND KIDS WHO LIVE WITH US, BUT ONE IS 16 SO HE DOESN'T GET ON IT, BUT MY 4 AND 5 YEAR OLD'S LOVE IT AND BELIEVE ME THEY GIVE IT A GOOD WORK OUT. DOES NOT SWAY OR SHIFT AND WE DON'T HAVE TO MONITOR SCREWS AND BOLTS. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLAY SET. ... show more

  • Great for older kids
We bought this for our 6 1/2 year old son. He loves the tree house up top. Great for older kids who can climb. Definitely took a long time to put together (as expected), directions were alright and lots of parts. But we managed to put it together in about a weeks time (1-2 hour sessions). We wanted something that was not wood and this is perfect! ... show more
