  • Great Value. Great Quality. Great Kayak.
This kayak (included 2 Oars and 2 Backrests) comes as a total package for my family. Not too heavy to transport and not too light to sense cheap. This kayak offers a durable and well-balanced construct. The layout and stability reflects the well-thought design. It fits three people with a total weight load of up to 500 lbs., so it’s more than perfect for my wife, kid and I. But if you plan to have 3 adults sit in it, then you might find it hard for all three to sit with comfort, it will be a little tight. A 60 lbs. kayak with a single side handle, it will not be easy for a single person to carry it. Two handles would make the job a lot easier. It comes with 2 Oar holders, 4 fishing pole holders, 2 molded paddle holder, 3 cup holders and 3 polyethylene cell foams to provide watertight seal for 2 scupper holes. The storage area is moderately great added feature. It’s the opening of the storage that is 6 inch in diameter but the actual inside area of the storage is quite decent. Do not just throw thing in the storage area. Here is what I did; Take an empty duffle bag and squeeze it through the storage area then tie up the bag with a bungee cord, tie the other end of the cord to the INTERIOR of the motor mount hole. While your hand is inside the storage area, just extend your arm all the way in the back and you can feel this 3 inch tall pole. That’s what you will loop through your cord. I have setup two bags as a permanent solution to hold small items. Works great for me. We did the test drive in a river where the water was low and quiet. The tunnel hull design allows you to fish while standing and I did test that out...I can stand up without the kayak tipping or getting that "sinking" feeling. While staying in the real low water, I tried to tip it over but to my surprise, it kept its promise and float firm. Seat’s backrest provides half decent back support but seats are not cushioned. So, I can’t say how one would feel if you are out there for a long drift. I recommend buying cushioned seats. Keep in mind that it’s a fishing kayak with a wide built, so do not expect speed out of it. Since it offers a dedicated area to mount the motor, we can’t wait to buy the motor mount and trolling motor along with the cushioned seats for this Kayak so we can cover a little more area without huffing and puffing too much. Over all, we love it and are very thrilled with what it offers at such a great price and free shipping with Prime. Go buy it, you will like it. ... show more

  • Tough, great, sturdy kayak!
This is a great, economical, multi-function kayak which my family loves. I researched and looked at MANY styles and prices of kayaks after moving to a coastal/marsh neighborhood and tested a few different styles of kayaks from a friend who owns a kayak touring/adventure company. If you've shopped kayaks much you'll be challenged to find one that is good for solo, adult tandem, and adult with two children. After shopping Craigs List/Gander Mountain/Academy/Bass Pro/Dick's Sporting Goods for an economical tandem I saw this at Amazon. With a wife and two children I've been able to comfortably use this kayak solo, with my wife, and with my two children. It's easy to bungee strap a milk crate on the front and back to have a great, roomy, sturdy fishing platform considering all the rod holders that already come with it. The kayak can handle the surf/chop pretty well but the back hatch/rold holders/etc. need to be siliconed or some water gets into the hull. This yak is WIDE, pretty heavy, and VERY sturdy. I'm 5' 9" 180# and can stand up and cast net when the chop isn't high. I can't wait to try it out this fall on some hunting & camping trips. Since it's short, wide, heavy this yak won't win any races and requires a little more paddle effort. The paddles are a pretty good design (especially for free) but are a bit short for the width of the yak. The seat backs are pretty good but you'll need a boat cushion or "deluxe" seat for some butt padding. Overall this yak has been GREAT for our family and we've had many adventures in it...HIGHLY recommended. This gets 5 stars since it offers more features and performance than any kayaks in this price range. PROS: 1. Price 2. Versatility (1, 2, 3 people) 3. Many features (2 paddles, rod holders, hatch, 2 back rests) 4. Sturdy/Stable CONS: 1. Doesn't keep all the water out (can be fixed with silicone) 2. Quite wide/heavy/slow 3. The seats don't have a bottom cushion ... show more

  • I wanted something pretty stable since he has autism and I didn't want ...
I got this kayak to take my son fishing in. The one we had was a one-man and so too cramped for both of us (he is 8). I wanted something pretty stable since he has autism and I didn't want him falling into the water. Like other reviews mentioned on here; this is a very spacious kayak and there more than enough room for both of us (I am 6' 190lb). It is also very stable and so that is perfect. We have been going every weekend now for a month, so here is what I think so far... It is actually pretty easy for me to paddle, maybe because it sits higher in the water than the one we have been using. The paddles are on the small side but that's probably a good thing to help kids learn to row. You can stand up in it but it takes a little co-ordination. As for storage, I bought an egg crate and strapped it on the back with bungee cords, works great. It also had lots of room for your fishing poles, drinks, etc.. That plastic hull seems very solid too. Here are some potential downsides. 1) It's heavy, you might want to get something to cart it on. I bought the item often purchased together and it doesn't seem to work that well with this kayak. I tried carrying it by the handle but that started to rip, so now I lug it by grabbing the grooves on the side...a little challenging. I am working on teaching my son to help me carry it and then it won't be an issue. 2) It takes a month to get to you. 3) I can see how you might want to invest in a better seat. For me it works fine but if you have a bad back or need more padding, that's something to think about. Yesterday, almost pulled a huge bass out of a quarry. It jumped off the hook at the last second, I haven't decided if it was my fault or the kayak's yet ;) But seriously, I actually had one guy yelling questions about it to me from the shore. It's a good kayak that I would recommend to a fisherman who wants some extra room. Chad ... show more
