Top Amazon Reviews

🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

Most reviews are positive, lauding the kayak's durability, stability, and comfort, particularly for individuals with back issues. Any complaints generally revolve around the supposed "water-tight" compartments not keeping water out and the kayak being somewhat heavy which could be a problem for older users. Some users also report delivery-related issues.

Pros

  • 🌊 Stable and comfortable, even for users with back problems.
  • 🎣 Ideal for both leisure and fishing activities.
  • 💺 Comes with comfortable, padded mesh seats.
  • 🚣‍♀️ Accommodates solo and duo voyages efficiently.

Cons

  • ⚠️ "Water-tight" compartments may not keep water out effectively.
  • 💪 Could be heavy for some users, especially the elderly.
  • 📦 Some users reported delivery-related issues.
  • 👎 Potential problems with build quality and long-term durability.

Should I Buy It?

Considering the majority of the reviews being positive, the product seems to be a good investment for those who enjoy water sports or fishing and need a reliable kayak. The comfort level and stability of the kayak are significant advantages. However, you may need to consider your strength and tolerance towards the weight of the product, and possibly plan for an alternative storage solution due to the compartments not being effectively water-tight. While there were some negative reviews, they appear to be the exception rather than the norm.

  • I’m very happy with this purchase
My kayak was shipped January 30 and was delivered February 19, in perfect condition. I can’t hardly wait to use it.

  • kayak not safe without outriggers
Finally got to use this kayak and was super excited ,but, probably about fifteen feet on calm water it just flipped right over with no warning. It is Not stable and should have told us that we needed the outriggers. Very dangerous.

  • Sweet
Took it out this weekend. My girlfriend and I. The I had my 9 yr old daughter on it with us. Use a stadium bench seat for her to sit on in front of me. No issues. We had a great time. Cooler was strapped in on the back. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a 2 person kayak

Great Kayak. Amazon too slow to show item delivered. Received 4/5 till shows delivery date 4/16 I hope I don't receive 2 of these. If so I will refuse it.

  • Giving a five star review for a four star kayak
For a sit on top kayak, these are pretty decent. I have had some problems with the hardware for the seats which were easily replaced. So ordinarily, I would give this 4 stars, but I'm giving it 5, because I just had a 50' maple fall on my 2 kayaks, smashing them, and when I cut up the tree and put the kayaks in the sun, the dents totally went away. I can't even believe they hold water much less. That they are back in their original state. The tree was like twenty five feet away, so it fell with some momentum. And yet these things survived somehow. Good job guys🤣 ... show more

  • Pretty Good
pros: This is a great kayak for fishing or just hanging out with a friend. The seats are fairly comfortable and easily remove; they can sit lower in the kayak or up about 2", which gives better viewing. The front seat can be turned around so that two people are facing each other for a visit with the grand kids or my daughter. The kayak is extremely stable and pretty tough. It has plenty of space for fishing gear, an anchor, snacks or whatever, either in the two dry boxes or in molded sections that stop things from moving around. Accessory rails are nice. I'm surprised at how well it tracks through the water since I'm paddling a bus! Nicely designed hull. A few cons: The paddles that come with it are too short (~90") for a fishing kayak of this width; depending on your height, you may want to try at least 98" paddles. The shorter paddles also make the rear cup holder useless: you whack the can or thermos with the paddle. The sales video shows putting one seat near the middle for single-person use. That does work, but you will sit lower. The bigger problem is that the seat frame doesn't sit level in that position. That's a problem because it causes constant squeaking of the seat fabric with every little movement: it's extremely annoying and prevents you from sneaking up on fish or having a quiet paddle. The fabric does NOT squeak when the seats are in the front or back positions, either sitting low or high. I paddle solo from that rear position just to have the quiet. Further, if you put the seat in the middle position there are no foot rests. I bought and installed a pair until I realized I couldn't eliminate the squeaking in that middle position. I don't even use them now since I just solo paddle from the back postion. It's heavy, but it's a sit-on fishing kayak, so it should be. I'm happy with this and think it's a fair price. ... show more

  • Takes on water
Really wanted to like this kayak, but after an hour on the water even solo (200 lbs) on still water the hill fills with so much water it barely floats. Not sure where the water is getting in but I ran a bead of silicon around all the ports and it still fills up with water.

  • Bad customer service
Read the bad reviews for Brooklyn kayaks, not just the good ones. Isaac, owner of BKC is interested only in selling kayaks. If you have any need for customer service, forget about it. All you get is promises. I had an issue with my kayak seat. Bad design, Chinese junk. Isaac was supposed to send me parts to fix it. That was 9/18/24. A year later 9/25/25, after countless emails, still no seat parts. I do not recommend BKC. They're glad to take your money, but not give you any customer service. You're stuck with what you have. Don't just look at the pictures, look at all the bad reviews on different sites. ... show more
