We are Mysterium fans and this expansion just adds more to a great game. It gives you more of all of the cards, so it can help keep the gameplay fresh (you don't always have the same suspects, places, or weapons coming up). It's a great expansion to a great game.

    • An expensive but needed add-on for my Mysterium sessions
For Mysterium fans who have played it a lot this is a much needed expansion. For the ghost there are 42 new vision cards that can be used to give clues to the psychics. As of September 2016 you get 7 new suspects, locations, and murder weapons. While I am very happy to have the new cards added into the decks the game publisher really should have made the expansion bigger. I bought both the base set and this expansion from Amazon and the expansion was only six dollars less than the base set. But you get far fewer cards. Let's hope the publisher releases more cards (go ahead and lose the box if it saves money) at a better price per card. How are the cards? Good with the same art style as the base set. Perhaps the publisher could incorporate other illustrators for the vision cards to add variety. Keeping the game fresh really depends on adding more cards into the mix. ... show more

The original is so much fun, this expansion pack makes everything more enjoyable and adds new variety to the game with very little cost. The quality is just as good as in the original set.

    • Great content but I want MORE!
I loved mysterium, it's a great game. I primarily play with my husband and we have seen all the cards quite a few time at this point. I was so excited to hear about the expansion, it does add some great features to the original game. I am, however disappointed it's not a larger expansion. I would definitely pay $$$$ for a great expansion to this game, this isn't it. I love the artwork, it stays true to the theme and original artwork. The new characters are great. I just wish there was MORE content. This is hard to rate because overall, I love the product, I just don't think it adds a TON to the game like most expansions do. So, I'll give it four stars and hope for more expansions to be released. ... show more

    • great if you need more of the same from the base game
A great addition to the game - it adds more cards (more of the same) - does not add to the game mechanics. This is like getting an expansion for Dixit (which I recommend using in this game, if you're looking for more variety - or vice versa). Everything is good with this, why not a five star? It's not necessary to have, it doesn't really do much, but add variety - which is what it's supposed to do - just not a must have expansion. ... show more

    • No new gameplay, but still beautiful and worth it for collectors
As always, the artwork is very pretty and I was happy with the buy, but, as many have stated before, there are really no new gameplay elements. For the price that is a bit tricky to justify for most people. Especially if you are a board gamer and have other expansions you have on your wish list that add more to the base game. Personally, I would rate this as a 3.5-4 as this, in my circle of friends, on of our preferred games to play when there is a get-together. However, I just didn't feel right rating it a 4 when it only adds more cards for the same play. What other elements could be added for gameplay? I haven't though about it too much, but there is always something that can be added. For starters, you could make a more challenging game with 'two truths and one lie' in terms of the vision cards you give to the mediums. However, if they had given it a bit more thought I am sure they could have come up with something. I am sure if they had a poll with their fans that play the game they would come up with all sorts of neat new features to add. ... show more
