I remember my parents and grandparents having one of these clocks ringing in the morning to wake up for work. Performs and is as loud as I remember it. The only difference is that this one glows in the dark. The bells and frame of the clock is made out of metal and is of great quality. It takes one double A battery to be operational. I like it but I don't love it. What would have made me love it is. I did not have to turn the alarm on and off. There is a switch on the back to turn off the alarm. If you try to turn the switch back on too soon meaning within the hour your alarm is going off it will continue to go off. So you have to wait till the next hour to turn it off. The problem is, I could have left the house already by then. I have forgotten to turn it back on and therefore it did not go off the next morning. This is my first mechanical alarm. I have always used electronic alarms in the past that reset themselves. Do they all work this way? I sure hope not. ... show more
