Features

  • LEKI's MOST POPULAR ADJUSTABLE LENGTH WALKING CANE- The Outdoor standard for single staffs, adjustable canes and walking aids. In town or on the trail, this adjustable cane out performs all others.
  • SUPER STRONG LEKI HEAT TREATED SERIES (HTS 6.5) ALUMINUM SHAFTS- There's nothing stronger! Three (18,16,14mm) shaft sections provide a minimum packed length of 63cm and a user adjustment range of (90-120cm). Wighing only 277g
  • LEKI's STRONGEST LEVER LOCKING SYSTEM- SpeedLock 2, the length adjustment lock, provides the maximum holding power for preventing accidental pole length collapse. A simple round dial increases or decreases clamp tension and the lever simply locks the desired length into place.
  • AERGO-MED GRIP PROVIDES SURFACE AREA COMFORT FOR HAND, PALM AND FINGERS- LEKI's AergoMed grip, with hollow shell cavity and large surface area, provides a seemless and smooth surface for all day comfort and load distribution across hand, palm and fingers.
  • RUBBER TIP, MICRO BASKET AND CARBIDE FLEXTIP- LEKI'S Trekking Rubber Walking Tip provides a sure-footed bite on hard surfaces, remove it and beneath is the Carbide Flextip which is ideal for off-roading and trail hiking. Micro basket helps reduce pole shaft leverage when mistakenly placed in tight restrictions.

  • Great pole for seniors
This is my second walking pole from Leki. I love how comfortable it is to use and how stable it is. The locking system is very secure, it is light and really helps my arthritic hip and leg pain. I need stability and the pole certainly provides it for me. Never thought I would need help walking but now that I do, I'm thankful Leki makes such a great product! ... show more

  • Perfect for recovery from broken femur
I bought this primarily to use as a cane and walking aid while recovering from a broken femur. It worked perfectly as a transition tool when I was ready to be off of crutches but not yet able to walk without a limp due to weak and recovering hip abductor muscles. I appreciate the style and quality of construction, and that it didn’t look like a typical cane. I used it for air travel and it really shined there. It was wonderful that it so easily collapses down into a short size, where I could stow it in the airplane overhead compartment during flights. I even got a compliment from a stranger who recognized it as a Leki and told me how much they like their walking poles. ... show more

  • Light weight and sturdy
Bought this as a birthday present for my husband. I have an older one that he liked so I thought I’d get one for him too. He was able to adjust it for his height very quickly and seems to be finding it useful. He uses it as a walking stick when taking our dog (large and energetic) for outings on rougher terrain. ... show more

  • Recovering from back surgery? Here’s your walking pole.
I can only recommend based on my particular use case; but, for the price I highly recommend the LEKI Wanderfreund Makalu Walking Pole. On 6/23/20 I had major lumbar back surgery. That’s the abbreviated description. At my 2wk follow up, my surgeon recommended I get off the CVS pharmacy walker (which was great during those horrific first few weeks) and replace it with a good / reliable walking cane. After a lot of research I settled on the LEKI Wanderfreund Makalu Walking Pole... or as I like to call it “Excalibur”. It literally saved my life. I’ve been using it now for almost a month EVERY day and have used it to walk around 2mi per day for my surgical recovery (and haven’t fallen yet). It’s sturdy and strong; but, incredibly lightweight. The adjustments for the right height took a bit of time to get used to; but, once you do... it doesn’t shift or move. There are a couple of things that really stand out. The loop to put your hand in, the rubber bottom for rough or smooth surfaces gives you good balance; but, the comfort of the handle is the true winner. Even when you’re tired and sweaty, the handle is easy to grip. ... show more

  • Improves on the previous model
I've used this pole for a number of years. Earlier models had a design flaw with the tightening mechanism - in cold weather the tightener tended to let go. The new model has a different design for the tightening screws which fixes this problem. This is a great pole because it's extremely light weight but very sturdy. It can be disassembled to fit in a small suitcase, if need be. Leki carries several different tips which are easily changed, depending on the surfaces upon which you are walking. ... show more

  • Easy solution for stability
Since I've had to use walking canes I've looked at all kinds of options. I love antique wooden ones or artisan made stuff. For practical use you can't beat graphite or aluminum.

  • THIS IS NOT A CANE! DO NOT MAKE MY MISTAKE
Nice looking? sure! that where it ends, LEKI will not give weight bearing due to their poor quality locking systems. i adjusted mine easy enough, but it just felt wrong, by this i mean it did not feel like a tight grip at the lock collar. since i actually would be using it as a cane i need certainty, so once i locked down the collars i put weight on it and it collapsed. i weigh only 170 lbs. almost everything about cane is cheap, if i remember made in taiwan, the photo and product look good, and use the same type of collars on my free weights. i justcant imagine this working as anything but an ornament. very dangerous this product!!!!! ... show more

  • Complete Junk
The round dial of the "Speedlock 2" system is made of very soft plastic. The wheel/dial strips after the 2nd or 3rd adjustment. You either strip out the dial or get to manage a shaft with insufficient tension that randomly adjusts its length at any second. This is a dangerous item. Buyer beware. Do not use this item if you actually need support. This item is only for display on a wall. The positive reviews are either from people who don't really rely on the cane slash trekking pole for support, or who are trying to stave off cognitive dissonance from having spent over $60 on a piece of junk. Do not buy a Leki. They are junk. Also, the Leki website is as useless as their trekking pole. And the Warranty is a bare minimum document and only covers structural failure of the pole itself and not the locking mechs. Leki is a scam. ... show more
