  • Easy to set up
Style: Flat top 10.1x9.8x6.6FT
Decent directions and easy to set up if you’ve got 1/2 a brain. We just had a rather large branch fall on it during a storm but it survived very well. The screen needs to be cut to fit but I just overlapped what they gave me and added more from a roll I bought. I would also recommend getting a lot more zip ties and tie the screen to the frame a lot more than the kit suggested. ... show more

  • Works well
Style: Flat top 10.1x9.8x6.6FT
It didn't take long to put together. Works well for my chickens. Nice size too

  • Not amazing, but not horrible.
The run came in two boxes. Most pieces were in pretty good shape. A couple poles were curved a little or the end was dented a little, but I was able to bend them back out to fit. Instructions didn't match the pieces exactly and weren't the best, but they were good enough for me to fill in the blanks and put it together. It is obviously not heavy duty anything, but since it is mainly to keep out hawks, it doesn't need to be. Now, the main negatives are that it needs about three times the amount of zip ties that were provided in order to make it kind of secure. The anchors provided are laughable. The hinges on the door both mount the same direction so the door can just be lifted off. I will not be using the rain cover tarp. I don't need it for my location, but I could see how it could possibly cause more damage to the structure in a storm than its benefits are worth. I, personally, ran extra chicken wire around the whole cage onto the ground and put large rocks all around to protect from digging predators and also to help anchor the entire structure. I will be upgrading the gate latches as well. ... show more

  • Do not recommend
Style: 9.9x9.9x6.6FT
The tarp and zip ties that come with it are very cheap. I purchased my own but was still disappointed after the bars started to rust less than a year later

  • Easy to install
Style: 9.9x9.9x6.6FT
I was impressed with how easy it was to put together. I expected a heavier wire but it’s just chicken wire which is okay since it’s for my chickens. I am a short woman, had no problem putting this together by myself. Sturdy as well. The poles click together.

  • Crushed box & bent coupling parts
Style: 9.9x9.9x6.6FT
Our box arrived slightly open on one end with bars hanging out of it. There are directions on the box that you must photograph the shopping box and keep all packaging if there are issues. We have done so but this is the first a manufacturer I've worked with has requested such a thing. So may folks would throw it away, not thinking to save packaging. I laid out all the pieces and inventoried everything before starting. Some of the numbers on the inventory parts stickers had rubbed off but the manual's diagram was detailed enough that I could figure out what part was part. When doing so, I didn't notice the top opening bars of part 17 were both bent. Because of this, I can't attach the door frame parts 12 & 13 because those bars won't slide into the openings of part 17. It appears there is NO way to contact the seller (Jovan) or manufacturer (unidentified on the box or in the manual!) except through Amazon. I messaged the seller but it didn't seem worth waiting to possibly hear back. My spouse and I were able to fix the bent parts with plyers. Besides this issue, assembly has gone well except parts 2 (roof frame of front and back) do not easily attach to the joints (parts 11). It may be a two person job to attach parts 2 to parts 11 because I can't get these to slid on their own due to the slight angle difference. Maybe if someone else puts pressure up on joint part 11, I can slide in bar part 2. I quit assembly at this point because there's no point messing with this frustration when part 17 is damaged. A family member recommended this brand pen from Amazon and did not have any damaged parts. They've been pleased with this pen except for the flimsy door kennel-latches, which don't open or close easily. I may have found a fix for this in replacing those latches with a sturdy latch sold for chain link fences- if it fits the bar size. You'll have to make some adjustments to make this predator proof. The chicken wire isn't enough as predators can easily dig or push under. We're hoping to make this portable so we have a portable coop to enclose in the pen so the birds are secure at night. I'm going to secure the door with bungee cords because the existing latches can jiggle loose. ... show more

  • Not a solid run, an ok play area.
TL;DR: needed extra tools and zipties to assemble. Not for the unhandy individual. Not a chicken run as it stands, but an ok playpen that will Keep the mid-size+ chickens in- but not a lot of ground predators out. You get what you pay for.. I have a custom built run that took some damage from a big storm. Figured I could get this thing and spruce it up to replace. I was right about that. However, if you think this is a good long-term run for your chickens as it is- it is not. Several poles would not lock into place. The measurements are off so that it is impossible to line up on multiple pieces. I had to duct tape. A couple of female ends were bent out of shape and I had to use tools to correct so the male ends would go in. The zip ties are not high quality or numerous enough to secure this run against anything- get extra. The instructions telling you to cut out all of the panels of screen individually is crazy. Just wrap, secure, then cut where needed. If you are planning to do this alone and/or are not particularly handy- walk away. The materials are strong enough to keep your birds in once assembled- using extra zip ties. However, it would not keep out any serious predator. A dog, coyote, or even fox could probably bust through that screen with minimal difficulty. I imagine it works well enough against hawks and owls. My plan is to recycle some old materials from my previous run to reinforce this sucker. It’s a good size with a fairly sturdy frame, fully enclosed, and looks pretty nice. Pretty easy to adjust placement before being staked into the ground and surrounded by cinderblock. ... show more

was easy to put together. I did a lot of reinforcing on it to keep out predators but this thing really is a great buy if you have a few chickens
