All gold blends in to each other. This does come with black hands that you can switch out. It’s extremely light, and the hands are easily bendable. I purchased this clock for an elderly friend's birthday, as she needed to be able to see large hands and a large clock. Because her birthday was later than my 30 day return window, and I never dreamed that it would be defective from the start, I didn't open the box and try the clock until a couple of days ago, only to find that the clock mechanism is made of plastic and apparently not at all strong enough to turn the hands. We have a quartz clock that has very precise timing that I used to test against this clock. Over the course of 48 hours, this clock ended up being about 2 seconds slower. While this is not a huge deal breaker for a clock of this price, you will have to adjust this from time to time to account for the slow second hand.
