I love this drying rack. It can dry things flat or really load it up by hanging over the rods. Keeps the clothes far enough part to allow good air flow, while maximizing space. If you're not using it you can easily close it up and it's very unobtrusive, nearly flat against the wall. Mine is constantly being used, though, lol. Now that it's up, I love it so far. BUT - it shipped without hardware, and although the manufacturer eventually shipped me the hardware (a few weeks later), it was awful (screws stripped almost immediately) and the design of the product is such that if the screws are the slightest bit crooked going into the wall (as opposed to perfectly square to the wall in all directions) you cannot mount it. So- these two things taken together mean that you have virtually one shot to mount it PERFECTLY, because once you screw those screws in, there's no way you can get them out and straighten them. They will be totally stripped. And because they are screws with extra-wide heads (to keep the unit mounted) you can't easily substitute screws you have around the house. I'm pretty good at installing and assembling complicated things, so it surprised me how hard it was to just get this thing on the rail of our porch. They need to figure out a better design for mounting this, to match the great design of the rest of the unit. ... show more

I have not yet hung clothes on this yet, however I am confident that this will hold up without any problem. I did take the advise of other reviewers and mounted a 1x6 piece of wood behind the hanger to ensure I was in two studs. I then mounted one of the actual hanger screws into one stud. It isn’t going anywhere. My only recommendation in the future would be to design the hanger such that the mounting holes are 16” apart, like studs usually are placed.     • Perfect for small laundry spaces
Our "laundry room" is actually a cramped corner of our basement without a lot of space to store things, let alone set up drying racks. After years of squeezing around precariously perched drying racks and hanging things from hangers hooked around nails in the dusty ceiling joists, I came across this wall-mounted option. Oh happy day! I will note that we took the advice of some other reviewers and mounted a piece of scrap wood to the wall, screwing it into studs, and then attached the drying rack to the scrap wood. That setup is very sturdy. I love the amount of clothing I can dry on this rack. Since we are using it in a small space, the fact that it easily retracts is a major selling point. The only spot for improvement is that I wish the cross bars (the ones that hold the laundry) were a bit thicker. They are plenty strong, but they can leave marks in some fabrics. To avoid that, I sometimes hang things across 2 bars to distribute the weight so there's not as much creasing caused by a single bar. Despite that issue, I love it so much that I'm contemplating buying another so I can hang even more laundry at one time! ... show more

First and foremost, make sure you can attach this into studs—for some reason, my wall I wanted to put it up on does not have studs in it (my husband and I checked with 2 different stud finders). We ended up having to use special wall anchors instead of the supplied materials. Once we got the right hardware, it seems very sturdy and I’m thrilled. There’s not a ton of room in the laundry room, and I absolutely hated the wire rack previously installed because I needed more hangers to hang up clothes to dry. I really like it, I won’t be hanging jeans on it it doesn’t looks super strong but it’s good enough for tops and not so heavy clothes.
