I bought this last December as a gift for my grandson, but decided to wait a year to give it to him since he was only seven years old last year. I’m glad I waited. This is a great gift but I do think it would be frustrating for any child younger than 8, unless there was direct adult supervision. You can construct multiple gadgets, but there are only enough parts to make one at a time. Any parent knows a child happy with their creation likes to play and admire it for a bit and then construct another without having to disassemble their first creation. This could be solved by the addition of a second set of identical Lego pieces. Though it might raise the price a bit it would solve this problem and also ensure you could still make a complete gadget if one of the very small pieces goes missing. The second point of frustration is the paper pieces, as mentioned in other reviews, are too flimsy and tear easily. Both of these issues could be remedied in a new improved Lego Gadget 2. I would certainly purchase it if and when it becomes available ... show more
