  • Holds It's Own Against the Competition
Color: Pure Black and White
We have been getting into this night vision goggles over the past few months so when I saw this set, I wanted to give it a try. What we have found is that these goggles are really handy to add to our photography and video options, especially by expanding our shots of animals at night. At this price point I will say that it easily holds its own against the other ones that we own. The biggest thing to make sure is to make sure that its rechargeable and not one that works on traditional batteries. This one seems to hold its charge for a nice amount of time, in fact we have yet to run it out while using it. It comes with a 32gb card which is adequate for photos and videos taken with its camera. Performance is within acceptable ranges but don't expect high quality printable images in most cases. This is especially true when you are zoomed in at night, it looks really cool and does an amazing job but not photo quality. The reality is that you don't really order these for that sort of thing anyway, so it isn't a negative at all against these goggles just something worth pointing out. Using the goggles is fairly simple and straightforward with conveniantly located buttons and wheels for adjustments. You turn it on by holding down the power button until the screen comes on and by default its set to daylight setting. On the left side are two dials to adjust focus and zoom which works smoothly and is in a natural position relation to your hand location. The buttons on top let you change the view from daylight to the various IR sensitivity settings. I found that even looking up the hill to the edge of the wood line, which is about 40 yards, I could see quite well leaving it at IR 1 - it's pretty amazing quality of illumination actually. We live on the edge of a small town and so I turned it to look along our neighborhood's backyards to see just how far it could "light up" and again, it was truly impressive. Our backyards (in fact our street in general) is very dark at night, not much different than living in the country, when I looked across the yards, I could see details at least four houses down and then some! On the right side is a wheel that allows you to turn the IR focus from near too far, but I really don't ever use it on the far settings because it just sort of overcompensates for the center while not showing anything at the edges. You really just need to set it to near and it will work fine at any range. The center button on the top is used for taking photos or starting the video and is sensitive enough to respond without much effort. With that said, if you do want to try and get photos or video of any real quality, I would suggest using a tripod for support. I have gotten some acceptable photos freehand but I have also been doing photography for over 20 years and have learned some tricks so it can be done. Overall, I have been thoroughly impressed with these goggles and I have no problem with recommending it to anyone currently considering purchasing it. ... show more

  • Amazing night vision!
Color: Pure Black and White
This night vision binoculars are comfortable to use and lightweight. I found that the night vision was extremely clear. We could see everything in the pitch black night! I was able to zoom in on a small white rope that is a protection barrier for owls nest easily. I was so amazed by this! Looking through these in the day was just as good. We were able to zoom in and see details at 100 yards across the park to other homes. It takes a while to get used to the sensitivity of the adjustments so just be patient with the focus wheels and once you figure that out it will be easy to use. There is a slot for an sd card where you can save photos and videos. These wouldn’t be good for fast action but definitely for watching animals such as hunters or bird watchers. Would also be perfect if you want to check a dark area before going into it. I would highly recommend these to anyone because of its ease of use! ... show more

  • These are really cool.
Color: Pure Black and White
What a great pair of binoculars, I’ve been using them up on my roof at night, and the night vision is very powerful. These are easy to use and the included instructions are great. I love the way that it also can record what you’re looking at. The only thing I didn’t like about these is that they don’t zoom as far as normal binoculars, but that isn’t a dealbreaker for me. ... show more

  • Heavy set of night vision binoculars
Color: Pure Black and White
This is the 3rd set of night vision binoculars I have tested and the first thing I noticed was how much heavier these are than the other 2 pairs. That could be a good thing I suppose because they definitely feel solid and durable. I like the rubber accents because they make they very easy to hold and maintain your grip. The other thing that is different is the screen is "inside" the unit. The image is not shown on the screen closest to your face, it is inside at the far end of the binoculars. It's hard to explain so hopefully the photo helps. There is about 4-5 inches of eye-relief, similar to a rifle scope. You do not put your eyes up to the screen to view the images like normal binoculars. The focusing is manual and done by two dials on the side. Also, you can digitally zoon by pressing the buttons on the top. The button functionality is similar to a wildlife camera, and both the day & night images are very clear and impressive. I use these on a tripod most of the time due to how sensitive the movements are when zoomed all the way in. We have a lot of wildlife on the beach at night including coyotes, bobcats and sea turtles, and I got these to observe the wildlife from a safe distance. At night, the display screen is very bright and my eyes are sensitive to bright lights. Therefore, I added dark photography gel film to the front to cut the light a few stops so I wasn't blinded. I will say that I get irritated by companies that put products out priced very high and then offer ridiculous coupons to entice buyers. This is a crappy process in my opinion and prevents me from rebuying from or recommending that manufacturer. Listed at $200 with an $80 coupon. $120 is a decent price for these in my opinion. ... show more

  • Comparative quality
Color: Pure Black and White
I don’t have any other night vision goggles or cameras to compare these to, but it works well for me (a novice). The digital screen and digital zoom is easy enough to figure out. There’s a lot of extra features I needed to read the manual to figure out. I can zoom to the other side of my backyard at night (0.22 acre). ... show more

  • Not night vision
Color: Pure Black and White
These are just binoculars with video/photo function. There has to be SOME light source to see anything - and you're just viewing in typical color instead of night vision green. Don't buy!
