Look great, texture is good, padding is very firm
**UPDATED after one week of use** I have been using the original leather armpads for about 5 years on my Herman Miller Aeron. They have been used heavily, and the leather on both arms has cracked and worn. I was looking for replacements, and actually liked the look of these better than the OEM replac
ements, so I decided to try them. They were very easy to install and look nice on the chair. They fit just like the OEM arm pads. The texture of the faux leather is fairly nice, and the stitching looks good. On the underside of the pads you can clearly see lots of staples holding the leather in place (not something you can see in the product images) and not all of the staples are fully seated. So while I can't speak to the long term durability of these, the build quality seems only OK, perhaps on the cheaper side. The main draw back is the padding. The OEM pads have nice, squishy, soft, comfortable padding. These, by comparison, are rock hard. Moderate pressure and they hardly compress. If I really squeeze one with my thumb, I can actually tell that there's a lot more foam that you might realize at first. However it's so firm that you'd think there was no cushion at all until you press hard. I've only had them for a few minutes, but so far, they aren't particularly UN-comfortable. So honestly, this may not be a draw back if you'd actually prefer a very firm arm rest. There is some padding, it's just very firm. However, I rather like the soft cushion and these are just too firm for me. I will likely be returning these, and instead going with the OEM pads from Herman Miller. Update: After using these for about a week, I have decided to keep them. I also ordered the OEM replacement pads from Herman Miller via Amazon to see which I liked better. Assuming they weren't fake, they weren't much softer than these. I also think they look worse, as they had a rounder shape to them and didn't look as crisp. After using these for a week or so, they just don't bother me like I expected they would. The texture is nice, and I don't seem to be bothered by the firmness at all, even if I put a good amount of pressure on it. Hasn't created an pressure points or anything. The biggest gripe I have now that I've used them is that the stitching on top of the arm pad is right where I rest my arm, so when wearing short sleeves I feel it, and would prefer it be smooth. Normally leather should have a groove pressed into it first before you stitch, so that the stitching is sunken in as to create a smoother surface. This bothers me slightly but it's not that bad. So I'm going with the cheaper, better looking option. I changed my review from 3 to 4 stars. PROS: Fits well Easy to install Looks great Texture is nice CONS: Stitching around edges of the arm pad creates an uneven surface that can be felt on bare skin. On a cushion scale of one to ten, 1 being a down pillow and 10 being a rock, these get an 8.

Much firmer than OEM armpads, but do the job
I got this as a replacement to the OEM leather arm pads I had on my Classic Aeron chair, as the leather had cracked from over 7 years of flexing as I got up out of my chair. These arm pads, as others have mentioned, have a much, much, much stiffer foam core that's much closer to the firmness of the O
EM vinyl arm pads, although this one is covered with leather, and the front edge of the arm pads are squared off, and the top surface is much flatter. That being said, since I only really touched my arm pads when I got up from my Aeron or readjusted my seating position, I think that firmness is desirable since it reduces the flex that caused my previous leather arm pads to crack, so I'm perfectly fine with that change in firmness. I would just say that the only issue I had with these arm pads came from installing them, as the screw holes aren't pre-tapped, so I would recommend using the armrest screws to tap those threads before attempting to install.

Replacements are not the real thing.
My old arm pad caps were falling apart from years of use. I bought these replacements. Functionally they do an adequate job. Visually they are not as nice as the original pad caps. From a comfort level they are much harder than the originals. If all you are interested in is function then these are av
ailable at a much lower price the the originals.

Better than what Herman Miller include for the Aeron chair
The leather looks much better than the original plastic armrests for this chair. The armrests are much stiffer than the original arm rests but that's better in my opinion. When you remove the old armrests (two screws under each armrest) keep those screws because you'll need them for the new armrests.
Although the screws don't look like they'll tap just apply enough pressure and they'll thread into the new armrests properly (make sure the new armrests are flush with the bracket first).

They are really easy to replace and much more firm than the original ones. But the trade off is worth it because it's soft leather compared to that vinyl they use on the original ones.

Chairs look like new again
We had our two Aeron chairs for many years now and use them on a daily basis. We also have several cats. When they jump off our laps, they push against the arm rests with their hind paws. Over time these arm rests were destroyed. After replacing them the chairs look great again.

Great product for a great chair
High quality leather armrests to replace failing vinyl original

These pads are so hard, you might as well buy. A used set of tires and cut the rubber to fit the shape of your existing pads… Seriously… just spend the extra $30 for the ones direct from Herman Miller..

Great leather armpads that anyone with a screw driver can install in five minutes
Replaced the original vinyl pads that had started to split after a few years of use. These leather pads are the way to go and could not be happier.

Seem to be more robust than the smooth "leather" of the original arm rest pads which ended up with "spider cracks". The pebble grain is still smooth to the touch.

Excellent replacement arms!
These were absolutely perfect to replace the torn arms from my Herman Miller chair. They’re super comfy and we’re super easy to install.

My 10 year old aeron pads were sagging where the elbows hit. These are in every way an improvement on the originals.

I assume others in the past have received these assembled properly, hence the positive reviews. These however are not pulled over the arm platform or pad with any amount of skill and can't be mounted on any chair due to the clumsy folds and poor leatherwork. I'd have bought another pair to try and se
e if there were others that might be skillfully made like the ad has pictured, but they are also very hard and have no give to the pad. The leather itself is quite thick and feels quality. Might be nice if you feel like cutting the armrest mounts on the chair to accommodate this sloppy leatherwork or re-stretch and staple it up properly yourself.
