This line of play food is truly outstanding! It is made of a thick, rubbery plastic that feels substantial in your hand. Even the smaller pieces are chunky enough for babies and toddlers. I am very impressed with the quality and realistic look. There is a fun variety to choose from and plenty of pieces to allow for multiple children to play together. The baskets are good quality with rubberized handles and are great for storing the food and for pretend shopping. I did a ton of research to find the best play food and whoa it’s been exhausting! Felt like I needed to take time to write this review for moms like me that are spending wayyyyyyy too much time trying to find decent toys for their babies! Lol anyway, I kept coming back to this brand because I liked how they looked in pictures and there were so many positive reviews. What kept me on the fence so long were the negative reviews that complained about strong smell. Well I’m here to tell you there’s NO SMELL at all!!! I don’t know where people are getting that from and I’m super annoyed that I almost didn’t buy these because of those reviews! This play food is bomb.com and I will definitely be buying more in the future! Love the feel and size; perfect for little toddler hands. Definitely the quality I was looking for!     • The absolute best play food!
This is far and away the best play food we’ve been able to find. This particular collection is awesome because it’s a great variety of breakfast, lunch, and dinner foods. The little grocery baskets - while much smaller than expected - are a fun bonus! Our son absolutely loves these foods and I highly recommend them! They’re so realistic looking, high quality, and easy to clean. One quick note, as others have said, there is an odor when it’s first opened. I have a highly sensitive sense of smell and was nervous, however I wiped everything down with clorox wipes and set them out overnight and they had absolutely no odor by the morning. My daughters cousin had these over at her house for a play date and we fell in love with them! My daughter seemed much more interested in her cousins food then in her own KidKraft food. The KidKraft is cheap plastic. It slip and slides all around her table and her plates. These Learning Resources ones are rubberized so they stay in place and when she makes sandwiches, the bread and cheese actually stay together. They're soft rubberized plastic and feel so REALISTIC! The bread is nice and soft, not hard. The soup and cereal look so real! The milk and juice are nice as well. They have a hefty weight to them making them feel even more real! These are hands down the best pretend foods on the market! Totally worth the price! ... show more

I wanted play food that wasn’t wooden, but wasn’t that super cheap plastic that doesn’t self inflate after your kiddo squeezes or accident steps on it. These were perfect. You can definitely tell they’re high quality. I adore them!

These Learning Resources food baskets are awesome! I love the texture of the food as well as the realistic look it offers. My son loves to put the different foods on his grill or bring us cereal or a smoothie to eat. He has quickly learned the names of the foods and I think that is partly because it does look so much like the real food he eats. The quality is great, very durable. Also, the food comes divided in the baskets as shown in the pictures which helps provide storage and organization. Since the baskets come with such a variety of foods- we also use these to get our little guy to sort (fruits, breads, colors, etc.) which he enjoys! ... show more

Bought the breakfast, lunch, dinner baskets (not the healthy ones but may get those as well) and all of the food is so neat! Very realistic looking and feels durable as well. They are made of rubber but thick and durable rubber it seems. they have a hole in them like a bath toy so that they cannot be crushed/damaged. I would not suggest putting them in water because of mold like bath toys. The only thing we took out were the apple slices because they seemed too small but we are also kind of paranoid first time parents, haha. I really have nothing negative to say about these after this first week or so of play. ... show more
