The finial broke off when I removed the clock from the box and the pendulum makes a disturbing amount of noise. Not recommended.

This is a really beautiful timepiece! It is not real wood, which I already knew. Thin wood-look material. But once you have it out, you can't tell. Was the perfect size! You can see it so well on my desk in my office nook. Love the pendulum. Does not have the typical ticking sound of a pendulum, if you like that. I don't mind one way or the other, so it was fine with me that it was silent. Keeps great time! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Works Perfectly. My pendulum knocked on one side too but either LEVEL or SHIM the KNOCKING SIDE to FIX PENDULUM BUMPING. Looks Great, Keeps Time, No Problems.

My great-grandparents had an old style Grandfather clock in the dining room next to the living room. When I was a they would babysit me, and I remember taking naps on the “Davenport,” listening to the ticking of that clock. When they passed away, the clock was given to my grandparents and the same thing. I remember that ticking, it helped me focus and it helped me pass the time while reading books. When I decided to buy a clock for my office, I wanted a clock that had an audible tick and the pendulum could be heard while it swayed. Apparently, this is not a desirable thing, and so I looked for a clock where the reviews said it was too loud. This was one of them. But unfortunately, the clock is dead silent, which might be great for most people, but I guess I’m just stuck with a nice quiet clock now. ... show more

if you want a $300 clock, go spend $300 and get one. Don't spend $50 and expect a $300 clock. For the features and being wood instead of cheap plastic it's a nice clock. I did have an issue with the pendulum knocking on one side, but a simple 1/8 inch turn of the clocks movement in the opposite direction from the side it was hitting on solved the problem. ... show more

I wanted a mantel clock for my fireplace like the one in "Beauty and the Beast" and I got exactly that as well as the candlestick. I was doubly blessed because I received both and they were a perfect match to the movies'. I would like to have had a back made of sturdier wood, but from where I and my guests sit, it looks 👌 PERFECT!
