The first thing I noticed in trying these boots on was that the Boot Shafts were soft. Typically when I start wearing new boots, they start digging holes in my shins and I have to use bandaids to keep them from cutting gouges and these don’t do that ! So, ol' batchelor me got married. My wife had her fancy boots, I only had work boots, I needed something a little nicer. I didn't want to drop $300 on a new pair, so I tried these. First off, while they aren't real leather, you'd be hard pressed to tell. The black took a real good shine, and they're still looking great. The little metal accents may try to work themselves loose-mine did not. The only thing I will say, while the size is dead on, the width isn't the greatest. This could be a fault of the boot, or the design of the pointed toe, I'm sure it's a combination of the two. Whatever your width, go one size up and you'll be good to go.
