  • Dang, ladies! Get these boots!!
Size: 8 Color: Distressed Brown
I read every review on multiple websites and finally decided to buy these Ariat boots. I've never worn cow-women boots before, but I learned a lot from the comments, and boy were they right. I have normal to somewhat high arches and struggled getting the right boot on; the left was even more difficult for me. I have a slight difference between my two feet, enough to be noticed in these boots. Once they were on my first thought was that they're way the heck too snug, but I was wearing medium weight socks and decided to swap them out for a lighter running sock. Don't laugh, but I also trimmed my obnoxiously long toenails. It's my worst chore ever, poor toes. It was easier getting the boots on and once my feet were inside I kind of just stood there trying to decide if there's any hope these boots are going to stretch and become comfortable. As I started to walk around and bend down and do ninja warrior stuff in them, I was gobsmacked that they were already beginning to loosen and comfort mold to my feet. Some more walking and bending and Jedi moves and I was suddenly in heaven. So right there and then I decided I'm keeping these puppies and taking them outside for some proper work. I spent three hours of hard labor on my property in the pouring rain and was blissed out. I wear trim jeans, not bootcut, and they slid right into the boots without having to adjust them, which was great. My feet were dry as kindling and the comfort was crazy. I have a difficult time finding comfortable shoes, so I was certain my first pair of cow-person boots were going to be a fail for me, but nope. They are fantastic. The traction is excellent. We have slippery red clay for our soil and I stuck to it like glue. The design is really cute, and you don't swim in them. There's enough room for your jeans, and if you have wider calves these should be a good fit for you. As for size, I'm a 7.5 to an 8 depending on the shoe. I wear a 38 in Birkenstocks and don't have a size reference from anything else because I live in my Birks. I ordered an 8 and definitely couldn't do half size smaller. A half size larger and the inevitable stretching and breaking in that started happening straight out the gate would make them way too loose. The remedy would be thick socks, but I don't like thick socks, and I can't stand hot feet. So this turned out to be the perfect size. The composite toes are rock solid. Don't expect to be able to find your toes through them, so if you want to gauge how close your toes are to the ends of the boots, take off your socks and then put the boots back on with bare feet. It's a good way to get a feel for how much room you have in there to spare. My toes felt crammed enough at first that I didn't see how these could possibly work, but I'm so glad I didn't give up on them. A little bit of fiddling and then discovering how quickly they stretch and custom form to my feet and they are winners!! Ladies, this is just Day One for me and I'm smitten as a kitten with these boots. One thing I had in mind in choosing these boots was rattlesnakes. They can bite through leather. That's one reason I like the composite toe, but overall I think these are thick and durable enough to give me some good protection. The running socks will be replaced with longer boot socks. Snakes laugh at socks; they do nothing to help, but jeans do indeed help. Honestly it's best to wear your jeans over the boots. Looser fitting jeans can help keep the snake away from your skin. Anyhoo, I hope this review helps someone. One suggestion I saw is to order half a size down and then choose the wide version. My bare feet told me there's no way they'll tolerate down sizing, and going wide will result in an oversized boot once you start wearing them and they break in. Okay, well there you go. • Good work boot
Size: 7.5 Color: Distressed Brown
I really like these boots - easy to pull on and off, comfortable after a short break in period (like a day), and they do what they say. They're nice-looking and have held up through much abuse. My only complaint is the ball of the feet is worn on the soles after a little over a year of wear. Changing out the insert frequently is necessary for comfort. Waterproof, slip-proof, and they keep the foot safe. ... show more

  • I thought I was going to hate them, it's a good thing I read reviews first
Size: 6.5 Color: Distressed Brown
Really. It's a good thing I read the reviews first. Out of the box and onto the feet, I thought I hated them, and I was going to pull them off and send them right back... But then, I remembered the reviews. They were hard to get on, just like so many reviews said. They were tight and squeezed my feet, just like so many reviews said. Then I walked around in my house for about 2 minutes, and they were still so tight. But then I remembered a few reviews that said to leave them on a while. So I did. For about 30 minutes, every minute I had them on, I worried that I would do something to make them non-returnable. These were DEFINITELY going back. But then something happened. I'm not sure what, but little by little, just sitting there with the boots on my feet, they started getting... Comfortable. Like they were gently molding to my feet in the most lovely way possible. Now, I have always hated tight, constricting feeling shoes. And while these were still snug enough to not let my feet slip around AT ALL, they started to feel REALLY GOOD. I took them off and let my feet breathe a while. Then again, I remembered the reviews, so I threw caution to the wind and decided to wear them outside to do some work in the woods (clearing thorny brush and cutting and moving downed-trees). If I ruined them and hated them and could no longer return them, it would be my own stupid fault. Well, I can tell you, after several hours of these on my feet, walking up and down a steep hill in the woods doing hard work, my feet never felt so good. I couldn't believe it. The glowing reviews were right. They feel HORRIBLE at first. But quickly mold to your feet to become the best work boots you'll ever wear. The sole is very grippy and seems quite sturdy. The whole boot seems very well made. I feel they run true to size. I'm a 7.5 in any major brand of running shoe (altra, Saucony), a 7 in Vans, and 6.5 in everything else, especially boots and fancy shoes. I purchased these in a 6.5 and now I can say for sure, they are just right. If you need slip on work boots, just give them a try. But remember the reviews.... ... show more

  • Great boots from great brand!
Size: 9 Color: Distressed Brown
These boots are fantastic! They are super comfortable and stylish. I've had them for over a year, and I've worn them for various activities, including some barn work and riding in different weather conditions. They are waterproof and still retain their great shape. Just remember to oil or wax them occasionally to maintain their quality. ... show more

  • Amazing workboots
Size: 7 Color: Distressed Brown
It is bonkers how limited the choices are for women's workboots are. I would like to have tried these on in a bricks and mortar store, but even here in rednecky oklahoma, nobody had these. I wear a 9 or 9.5 in sneakers, but 8 fits perfectly in these. After a bunch of gross landscaping work, I just hosed them off. Probably not wise, because they do retain a bit of water marks across the toes. Feet stayed dry the whole time. I don't know that I would wade creeks in them, but for workboots in wet conditions, they are great. The soles are very cushiony, and they don't feel heavy or like your legs are in a cast. These do not have the composition safety toe, but I kicked a bunch of rebar stakes loose from the compacted ground with no damage to the boots or my feet. ... show more
