  • Superior product
Size: Hollow Tine Aerator
Great aerator! No assembly needed and easy to use.

  • Great product!
Size: Hollow Tine Aerator
This aerator is sturdy and effective! Yes, as you use it, you will notice the soil plug inside the hollow tines. That is the aerator doing what it is meant to do. When you repeat the process and take your next set of plugs by reinserting the tines into the soil, you will notice the last set of soil plugs being pushed up and out of the hollow tines, then falling out of the top of the hollow tines, onto the top of your lawn. Regarding ease of use, effectiveness, sturdiness, I believe this is the best manual lawn or garden aerator available. ... show more

  • Flexible tool that gets the job done
Size: Hollow Tine Aerator
Got this aerator so I can skip the hassle of renting the big one from HD and renting a truck to get it home with. Our soil has a lot of silt here so manual aeration is a challenge. What worked really well for me was the ability to remove the tines. I just kept the one middle tine on and was able to get my back yard done in about an hour. I did have to periodically clean out the tine when plugs stopped coming up but that wasn't a big deal. Seems like a sturdy tool that will last many years. ... show more

  • Great tool!
Size: Hollow + Spike Tine Aerator
Having a manual aerator for tough spots in the lawn is a great idea. This one is solid and having the option to take cores or punch with the solid tines is awesome. They switch out easily. Great product!

  • works great if you follow these recommendations
Size: Hollow Tine Aerator
This product is very effective if you follow these recommendations: 1) If your weather has been dry (late summer / early fall, when aeration is recommended) and/or the lawn hasn't received regular rain for a while, water it thoroughly at least 2 days in a row before attempting to use an aerator. NO aerator will work if the ground is rock hard. 2) If like me your tool comes with two sets of aerator tips -- one rounded and one tapered -- try the tapered tips first. They should cut through dirt easier than the rounded tips. Switch out is easy with a Philips head screwdriver. This product works better than the competition because the channels of the aerator tips are notched out, allowing the dirt from the previous hit to be expelled from the tip each time it gets depressed into the ground again. It isn't a 100% process, but it is clearly superior to aerator tools without this feature. Depending on the consistency of your dirt (see above), you may need to have a stick of some kind on hand to periodically clear the channel manually. However, I've found that conditioning the soil correctly dramatically reduces the need to manually clear dirt from the tool. An added bonus of this tool is that, depending on the size of your lawn and how much of it you do at a time, you can count on getting a reasonable workout. As someone who works out daily, intensely and does a variety of different activities, I was surprised by how sore my abs were the day after I aerated a 30' x 20' patch of lawn. If you maintain a consistent clip, expect to work up a sweat. ... show more

  • Works better than any other hand aeator, handle foam falls apart quickly, quite pricey
Size: Hollow Tine Aerator
First I would have to say that it does work well. It works way better than my last one. It is quite expensive, so i was surpised that it has foam handle bar covers. They get destoryed quite quickly. I'm hoping to just to go to a dollar store and replace them with kid bike handle bars. I'll let everybody know how that goes... ... show more

  • Helped me aerate my Colorado lawn in the fall
Size: Hollow Tine Aerator
This worked perfectly and as described. Takes deep five-inch plugs out of your soil and never got clogged. We are in the high plains dessert (8'500 feet) and I was able to hand-aerate my suburban-sized front and back lawns over a weekend in the fall. I found the process incredibly meditative and oddly satisfying (like popping a pimple lol). As other reviewers have mentioned, just make sure your lawn has been properly watered the night before or hit this up the day after a big rain. Biggest win is that you can now aerate your lawn without renting gear or relying on others. I learned to blow my own sprinklers out for the same reason. I will be using this tool to work on difficult spots next season. Yes this tool is expensive, but after trialling it extensively, I'm convinced it's worth the money (I am paying for the construction, design and performance over the sum of its parts). ... show more

  • Overall it’s great but needs improvement
Size: Hollow Tine Aerator
It’s a great product. You need to make sure soil is properly irrigated. The hollow tines are high quality. Never really had an issue with cores getting stuck. I my lawn is 100% hard compact clay soil. I did a full scale renovation to my 3 acre lawn. But i had to do some tight spots, about 3000 sqft of manual due to some shallow pipes and landscaping. It did it’s job where my 6” tine attachment aerator couldn’t go. Now, the bad is things… Very bad handles and footing. If you could mix the handles and footing with the corona max yardbreather from Home Depot with the landzie tines and the fact they are interchangeable… But overall a great product ... show more
