First of all let me just tell you that I am almost 50 years old chap. For long time I have been laughing at those Bluetooth speakers for being dull and pretty much useless when you have a table radio or personal stereo. On the other hand I had my table clock that was just boring cheap knock off like most of gadgets today that was simply ugly and boring. Then I saw this product reviewed by Techmoan on YouTube and this was absolute smash hit. I immediately ordered it from Amazon and got it delivered next day for free. Sure some of you say that i is expensive, but you are getting exactly what you paid for. Think about it and all the features that this little thing has built-in that you can benefit if this one is right for you. First of all it obviously is a clock timer and stopwatch when you need it. Second it plays the radio with a decent quality sufficient enough while listening at work or at home during morning rush before getting off to work when you don't expect much from the sound when listening news, weather and music while having a breakfast. Third and neatest addition is that this device can communicate to multiple smart home devices that I have installed ay home like Belkin WeMo switches Philips Hue Lights and it can even pull room temperature from my Nest thermostat and display it on the front of the clock. This makes this little table clock a real treat. Build quality is reflecting the price, very good quality solid with a rubberized surface it gives a good feeling when holding it or operating it. I'm very glad it does not require batteries just like my old table clock because these always run out when you need to clock most. The Wi-Fi connectivity works great so the clock, the weather, the traffic, all is up to date whenever I need it. There are multiple apps available for this clock to add with more additional features and more apps are being developed as I write this to give you even more benefits from having this little device on your desk, countertop or table. I truly recommend this product to everyone it's a money well spent and you won't regret it. But if you do you can always change your mind and return it to Amazon they accept returns. Upon first impression, this does exactly what you would expect. It has some basic apps built in for time / weather, etc. but the real functionality shows up when you download apps to it to show the social counts. I'm not sure why some of the other reviews on here claim that this device does not work, or they are having difficulty with the apps. This device is primarily for showing social counts, and it is extremely easy to set them up using the built in "App Store." The one thing this company does not do well is market and advertise that it does these things on top of being just a clock. If you're buying it for just a wifi connected clock, there are cheaper options out there. For what it does in terms of showing social feed counters, it is a rockstar. ... show more

I have to admit that I took a little bit of a gamble when I bought this product. Going by the reviews here, I was hesitant because of the issues other reviewers have identified. Now having used the Lametric Clock for a few months, I have to say, I'm mostly happy with this purchase. I am not a social media maven, and no, I do not need to know my Instagram or YouTube subscriber count every 10 minutes. There's a very niche group of people who do. Instead, I work in an office. I like the idea of the smart clock because I hate looking down at my phone constantly. I could get a smartwatch, but I already have a Fitbit. This clock serves a particular purpose. I put it on a shelf in my office, and have it set to give me the time, weather, sunrise/sunset (I bike to work sometimes, helpful info), a scrolling Twitter feed of news stories, and I have it synced with my calendar. If you're using Outlook, all you have to do is sync with Gmail using a third-party client to generate a public URL, which then easily inputs into this clock. The clock buzzes before meetings (much less disruptive than annoying Outlook reminders) and knows to ding when I have a call or text message coming in on my cell. It's sort of in the background during the workday, but surprisingly useful. During baseball season, I have it display my favorite team's latest scores and upcoming games. I knocked this down a star because there simply are not enough apps for it. An app for commodity prices, for example, is advertised but now defunct, and lots of apps in their store are the same. The store itself is not that big, so the selection is a bit limited as well. I know the company is investing in an illuminated wall decoration, so I do wonder if they will keep up with consistent updates to this product line. I think the idea is very solid, especially for my business use case, and ultimately I do recommend it with those caveats. ... show more

It is absolutely overpriced for what it is. But if you are the sort of person that wants exactly this, I don't think any of the competitor's are really all that similar.
