I bought 2 sets (4 solar string lights altogether) for my new gazebo. I spent hours on a ladder, stringing and zip tying the lights in, around, and through the supports and roof bars. We were super excited for nightfall... only to notice that one of the 4 was not working. There is no way to open the solar panel to check or replace the batteries. I'm not going to try to unstring it now, as it would be too much work and frustration, but it completely throws off the look it was placed to achieve. As for the other 3 strings, they are working perfectly! User advice... check functionality BEFORE installation. Lesson learned and face palm commenced. ... show more

There were three strands of solar tiny string lights on a home I bought and it really help sell the house to me. Slowly though they stopped working and were dry rotting. So I looked on the home shopping channels and then Amazon. I got two 100 strands of lights on a solar grid. I’m a below the knee amputee so my girlfriend helped me get old ones out and I thought 100 or 1 strand would be enough but we used both and not only does it look beautiful it also makes me think about how much I appreciate my friend and she lights up my heart every day and helps me becuz she wants to. We are both nursing me on disability her due to being furloughed and her husband just finished chemo due to metastatic lung cancer and three girls out of college. She helps me at least once a week and when I look at the dogwood tree at night it fills my heart with joy because she gives me unconditional love and joy. It been a difficult 4 years and she stepped in. So I cherish our friendship and would do any for her. ... show more

    • Doesn't hold enough solar power to run longer than a few minutes.

The solar power isn't strong enough to hold power on these lights. I bought back in August and just installed them in November and they only run for a few minutes before shutting off. I cant even return them. Probably should have tested them out when they arrived. Edit 3/21/21: The solar panels need direct and bright sunlight. They won't last 5 minutes during overcast days. We've had a few weeks of sun here in Washington state and during those days, my lights have lasted throughout the night. I was so surprised and excited to see the difference in them so naturally I had to update my review. Theyre only good during warmer weather months if you live somewhere further from the equator basically where there's less sunshine. Hope this helps! ... show more

I have bought many of these from different sellers. So far this two strand set was the best deal. The were packaged beautifully and in perfect condition. The first set I bought, almost 5 years ago, still works. I use mine to decorate a fence that surrounds 3/4 of my side yard and it's so pretty at night. Our yard always looks like we're ready for an informal gathering. I will say that these lights are very fragile. You cannot treat them the way you would regular string lights. If you've ever taken one apart you would see why. The little copper wire that carries the power is tiny, to say the least. I have neighbor children that sometimes would climb our old fence and break the lines. We would just cut the line and splice it back together. Easy. Also these, unlike some I have bought in the past, have a replaceable battery! Yes just replace with a rechargeable available anywhere. Easy! Of the eight or so strands I have now I have only had to replace two batteries over the years and I have had one strand that broke and I could not repair. Not bad statistics I would say. So just handle with care when you string them and leave them to themselves. Remember they must charge before they will work and also don't forget to turn them on. Just string, turn on , put the solar panel to where it will receive light for the longest time each day (does not need direct sun, though it will help charge more fully) and then forget them. They will come on each day all by themselves when the light is low enough. Enjoy! ... show more

Put out one set first to see how it worked, worked great. 2 days later put out the other set, that one worked also. 1st set stopped the night after I put 2nd set out. Each set went on 2 different bushes, 2 different parts of the yard. Disappointing. Bought for a party for scenery. Hope the 2nd set still works in couple weeks. ... show more
