    I was looking for some lights to not only use at Christmas but to keep up all year for just hanging out on the patio. These Govee lights fit the bill to a T. I had bought one other Govee product at that point (PC lighting) and loved it so I thought I'd give the brand another shot. These lights (got two strands so 96 feet) work perfectly! They seem to be well made and the ability to connect them to their app makes them so easy to control too! I love these! Pros: Seem to be very well made. Connects easily to the app. Totally controllable from the app. You can pick different light setups that are on the app (which I did for Christmas as they had like 5 different themes you could do premade) or you can totally make your own rules. You can control every individual light and have it be whatever color you want. It's a little bit of a pain to do but I messed around with it and had some cool patterns going. My favorite part is I have the lights set up on a timer. Every day at 4pm the lights come on and they turn back off at 11:30pm. I never do a thing unless I want to change something. You can even open the app and turn them on like at noon (dark rainy day) and they'll turn on and then it goes into the scheduling and turns off at the 11:30 mark. Very cool! Great light set! Cons: Just two things I can think of... 1) You can only turn them on or off unless you use the app ( and only white steady on) so if you hate having to use apps I'd leave these alone. 2) The controller that is between the end of the light strand and then the power cord doesn't appear to be waterproof. I wouldn't trust that it is anyway. Kinda weird when they are outdoor lights. I bought a waterproof box to keep it watertight.     I'm sorta a light freak. So when I installed these puppies, it was like I was an 8 year old on Xmas day. I was turned off that my 96 feet only had 30 actual lights? Couldn't tell how many I would get by looking at the listing. So there is one light every 3 feet. 6 feet for cord I guess. Plugged in and downloaded app and got it connected. Very easy. Go to preinstalled content and hit illumination. Pow. Bright lights for outside security. All my neighbors have lights on their deck and under it, mine are the brightest. You can actually set each and every light to a color you select, and save your design. Many pre-installed modes that twinkle. Xmas themes. Halloween too. Dance party. Reacts to music. The app let's you pick a time to turn on and off. You can select 4 times a day. I just use two, on at 7pm off at 7am. Pick any color you can imagine and any dimness. One of my favorite purchases. These are made to attach to your gutters. So easy if that is where you want them. If not, put a long screw in the wood that you are installing. Pull cord tight and wrap once around the screw to make it not sag, or sag as wished. Directions do say power adapter not water proof, so I will duct tape a lunch bag over that.     I originally purchased these in October 2022. By April 2024, I HAD to buy replacements as 1/3of the lights were totally out and 1/3 wouldn’t color change. (They would only change various shades of blue.) For the 1st year though, they were very nice. They are good for ambient lighting, but not bright enough to play games near (like cards or monopoly), even @ 100%. They are very easy to use with the app. Love the app as it’s not another remote that is easily misplaced. The app is easy to use, and it’s easy to customize each bulb color, if you want. There are many programs, fun color choices. I have my lights on a timer, which is another great feature in the app. (I have a few of their items, so it’s nice to have them all in the same app.) ... show more
