Have no idea how this really works, but it does. Wish it was little better on the adhesive sticking. I had knee replacement May 2022....extremely painful due to massive swelling. I'm not wussy & this is 2nd one I've had. This was MUCH worse than 1st one.....so I can really tell u that this is amazing for relieving pain! ... show more

KT Tape is one of the few things that looks deceptively simple and even gimmicky at first but actually works wonders for pain and injury management. I was introduced to the KT Tape Pro by a colleague at the gym and ever since both me and my wife swear by it in managing our knee pain/runner's knees while using our treadmill at home. We would have never thought that a gentle compression and pressure would work such wonders for our knee impact pain USING THE KT TAPE GENTLE VS KT PRO: - Unlike the Pro, the Gentle tape is made up of cotton and is latex free with a less resilient adhesive - This makes the Gentle tape more breathable, even across multiple layers and great for sensitive skin or if you are allergic to latex - The gentle tape comes in precut 10 inch strips that stretch to about a max of 16 inches proving light to moderate compression as they have less elasticity than the Pro/Latex tape - While removing the Pro tape it would take several of my leg hair out with it which was painful, whereas for the Gentle tape is a bit easier and less painful to remove - It will still pull your hair enough that you feel it but the adhesive is not strong enough to pull them all they way out - When applied properly, with more intense and prolonged jogging, the gentle tape would last me for about two days along with baths - Being made of cotton it is more comfortable, breathable less irritation and redness after removing it GETTING THE TAPE TO STICK: - If you read some of the reviews of other KT tapes, you'll notice that one of the most common complaints about them is that they don't last or peel prematurely. And with the Gentle tape this can be an even bigger of an issue if not applied correctly. As per their instructions the tape needs to be applied *one hour* before any sort of exercise to allow the adhesive to properly set and fuse. Also the skin should be completely oil, lotion or moisturizer free as any of those can impact its adhesiveness - What I've personally found that works best for us and can recommend is that we apply the tape before going to bed at night by thoroughly washing & drying the area where the tape is to be applied (eg knees). This allows the tape to firmly get set overnight when your body motion is minimal. The gentle compression throughout the night not only helps with the pain better but it also makes the tape ready for the next day when you work out. - Even if the gentle tape does come off, you should be able to reapply it in most cases by cleaning the skin dry, just that it will now last much shorter - Even though the tape has rounded edges , cutting them into a half circle at corners works better and prevents the tape from catching clothing FINAL THOUGHTS: Overall I can definitely recommend you to try out KT tape for your pain/injury management and if you have sensitive skin or latex allergies then this Gentle cotton tape is a perfect match while providing similar benefits at the cost of less endurance and longevity. If you don't have sensitive skin or latex allergies then I would recommend trying the Pro tape first as it lasts longer through more intense workouts ... show more

The tape functions well, adheres well, but removal can be a little hard, unless you have rubbed over them with creams and bio-freeze lotion several times during the three days of wear. This does not seem to affect their adherence, but it does make removal much easier. (This solution did not work for me with regular athletic tape.) ... show more

Ordered this for my daughter after the first one, an off brand that I purchased burned her skin. My daughter is a dancer and the KT Gentle tape didn’t hold very well. I ended up ordering the KT Original did all it’s supposed to do with no negative side effects.
