  • Can't get the full 1500 Watts
Size: 1500 Watt
Seems to keep cutting off at about 1350 watts. It's supposed to make it to 1500 watts. I've been using Hall effect watt meters (2 of them) and watching the watts, I can see it. Just when it's about to hit 1350, the unit shuts down. My battery also has bluetooth and shows in watts, the power output, it correlates to about 1350W +/- 20 watts. It also cuts off at 11V, while my battery doesn't cut off until 10V. So there are about 20-50 watts of power I'm not getting from the battery. Minor, but worth mentioning. That said, it's a nice little device. Kind of cheap APS plastic on each end, but doable. I see a lot of van dwellers using these, so just be warned, it does warm up under heavy use (40+ amps) and you should have a plan for ventilation. I would recommend piping into the van (winter) and a valve to pump it out (summer) or some kind of plan at least. ... show more

  • Dependable Modified sine wave power
Size: 1500 Watt
This is my third Krieger inverter (for different vehicles - not replacement of units) and both previous units are still in full operation. I use this to provide limited 110V power while "dry" camping. For powering small heaters, lights, recharging phones & other non-sensitive devices. If you are looking to effectively provide power to televisions, computers and the like, I would suggest looking for a "pure" sine wave inverter. That said, I've found that, for general purposes as I use them, the modified current production works fine, and at a lesser cost. Of the many on the market, I like Krieger's solid performance and dependability at a competitive price point. If "pure" power isn't a concern for your uses, I highly recommend the Krieger family of inverters. ... show more

  • Works as advertised
Size: 1500 Watt
I bought this for emergency use. Ran 2 cycles of a 100W loads until the battery low voltage shut it down. Worked fine and the fan did not need to run at this load. Then tested near maximin load with a small microwave and then an electric heat gun until the battery cut off. The fan ran this time and the case temperature was at 91degrees F (ambient temperature was 68 degrees F), which is cooler than I expected. One reason for purchasing this brand was the robust heat sink design and I am pleased with the cooling capability. I understand that this is not a pure sine wave inverter and that it does make some difference when running items like microwaves. However it performed as I expected and I am pleased with this purchase. ... show more

  • Krieger 1500 Inverter
Size: 1500 Watt
This Krieger 1500 modified sine wave inverter is okay. It works like it should for a small cooler, lights, and can even power a small 700 watt Microwave. What I don’t like is that every time you turn off the car, and than restart the car, you have to manually turn on the inverter. I prefer inverters with an on off button, that will stay in the on position. I would than turn the inverter on and off with a PAC relay that I can control with an ignition wire. I do like the included wired remote, just wish I could control on and off with the ignition key . ... show more

  • Hurricane preparedness
Size: 1500 Watt
We recently moved to Florida and needed a solution in case of extended hurricane related power outage to provide intermittent power for home refrigerators. Due to my vehicle battery configuration I needed to attach high current clamps to the car end of the cables. This was easily done with 500A clamps available on Amazon without modification of the standard cable ends. The inverter can now be easily attached to the vehicle provided clamp points without disconnection of vehicle power sources which would reset all vehicle electronics. The unit worked flawlessly with power to spare for our refrigerators, with or without the vehicle engine running. The front display provides a convenient power output monitor to indicate when the refrigerator compressor is running or vehicle battery is low. That way the unit can be shut down and disconnected after the refrigerator temperature set point is reached or the vehicle engine started to recharge the battery and keep the power output. ... show more

  • Frustrated
Size: 1500 Watt
I bought this inverter to power a microwave in my big truck. I can plug anything into it and it’ll work. If I plug a microwave into it, it won’t. I’ve gone thru 5 microwaves so far. After going thru multiple phone calls with the seller, they finally said to send it to them. I really don’t think they want to fix it. They should’ve said to send it the first time I called. Buying a new one would be easier than going thru the hoops they want to make you jump through. ... show more
