  • Really great
I really like how powerful this product is. I really wasn't expecting to use it as much as I have but it works as shown and easy-to-use. If you need a small portable air compressor. This is for you. Great for roadside emergencies and more.

  • Works as advertised
It works great and I went through through two of it's competitors products and I had to return them. The display is good and the pump turns off after it reaches the right pressure. Are you supposed to pump the tires on my bike and car. Works well for both.

  • So good we bought 2
We bought this bc we have one that is 10 yrs old and it's indispensable!! Just the ability to inflate a tire that's low without the hassle of trying to find one that works at a store makes it worth the price. It's easy to use, fast and compact. We used to move it between vehiles, now we have one in each vehicle. All 3 of them. ... show more

  • It's the little things...
I wanted an electric air compressor for my garage so I can keep my car tires properly inflated. Even when new they lose 1-2 PSI per month and my gas mileage suffers. Finding one that ran on 120v and had a digital pressure gauge was surprisingly hard. Pros: * Digital tire pressure gauge that shows pressure of tire before starting to inflate (although unit has to have power). * Set desired pressure and it pumps until it reaches it, then automatically shuts off. * Quick connect hose coupling makes it easy to connect the air hose to the tire. * Nice storage compartments for adapters (for bicycle tires, balls, and other inflatables), air hose, and 12v cord. * Not terribly loud. * Lightweight. Cons: * Air hose is only about 2 feet long. * 120v power cord is only about 22 inches long. Combined with the short air hose, this makes it useless on 120v without an extension cord (the 12v cord is long enough to get you around the car). * No on/off switch. Plug it in and it's on, you have to unplug it to turn it off. (There is an switch for the compressor, but the air pressure gauge and backlights will remain on as long as it is plugged in.) * Difficult to stuff the 12v cord and air hose back into their storage compartments. * Doors to storage compartments do not close securely. Very easy for them to pop open. * Only claims accuracy to +/- 2 PSI. My unit seems to be within 1 PSI as best as I can tell, but I don't have anything I'm really confident in to compare it to. * Shut-off pressure is, of necessity, the pressure in the hose while it is pumping. After the pump shuts off the pressure can drop some. Inflating tires to 36 PSI the pressure dropped down to 35.5 after the pump shut off. Overall I think this works reasonably well if you intend to keep it in your car and use it on the road, but there are much cheaper options if that is your situation. For having something in the garage that you can plug into the wall, I had to spend another $15 on an extension cord and I really don't like that I can't keep it plugged in. For auto tires or bicycle tires the short air hose is not a huge problem, but I could see it being a bigger issue with blowing up rafts or air beds or other large items. ... show more

  • Save Yourself the Stress, Look Elsewhere
Purchasing this compressor has been the single most difficult Amazon order I've ever had. It was purchased on April 12th, used twice, and completely died by May 21st. The only thing worse than having a new item fail within weeks of purchase was that the return was even more frustrating. May 21st is just past Amazon's 30-day return window. However, per Amazon's website, if a manufacturer's warranty covers the item, Amazon will honor it. The Kobalt compressor has a 1-year warranty. I first attempted to initiate a return via the Amazon app. Nope! The return window had closed. I then phoned customer service. Agent #1 saw the issue and agreed to a refund. Great! I ask him for a QR code to send the compressor back. He said no, since it no longer worked, I could keep it. Thankfully, I didn't toss the compressor out then, because a month later, the refund hadn't appeared. In early July, I called customer service again to explain the situation. Agent #2 said they'll make a "one-time exception" and process a return on the item even though it's outside the 30-day return limit (completely ignoring the 1-year warranty coverage from Kobalt). Fine, I'm not going to argue the details. I returned the compressor, and shortly thereafter, I received a text saying my refund had been processed. EXCEPT! It's for $15.70 less than what I originally paid for the compressor. I call customer service for a third time, and I'm told that the $15.70 is a "restocking fee." A restocking fee for an item that worked 2 times over 6 weeks and then completely died?! A restocking fee that customer service agent #2 never mentioned? And even after I explained why I was returning the compressor, Amazon agent #3 asked me 2 more times to explain why I needed to return the item - it died... it's no longer functioning. I finally got an Amazon credit for the restocking fee, but no one should have to work this hard to get a refund on a manufacturer warrantied compressor that died after 2 uses. Ridiculous! If you must purchase this compressor and have a Lowe's near you, purchase it in-store. The compressor doesn't appear to have a great track record on reliability and taking it back to Lowe's has got to be easier than dealing with it through Amazon. ... show more
