    • Lots of ice
We’ve had 5-6 table top ice makers in the past. This one may be a table top machine but it makes ice like the big boys. One really good thing that I like is you fill the water tank from the top which holds a lot more water instead of having to take out the basket and fill what little water fits underneath the basket. A negative is it states that you can put a large water jog on top and it will automatically fill itself. I haven’t tried it because it looks like you would have to take it off to open the door to get to the ice. It’s not a problem though because you can fill it with a lot of water at one time. The main negative is when the ice makes and then falls, it comes out as mostly, one big tray of ice. I would rather have it in individual pieces.     • FAST ICE MAKING MACHINE!
The media could not be loaded. Makes great square ice cubes fast. Our Frigidaire ice maker bit the ice (dust) and instead of getting it repaired (250) or purchasing a new fridge (1000) we bought this auto ice maker for 160.00. I like it because I can fill it with a 1 gallon pitcher AND use a 1 gallon water jug, sold separately. Comes with a small ice scoop and a 5# ice bag. UPDATE A MONTH LATER: STILL producing great ice! I added the optional 1.25 gallon water jug. This option is not fully explained in the information provided with the machine. I found this jug here on Amazon. THEN I discover I must have the silicone blue reusable water jug caps (55mm). Both purchased separately from Amazon. FIRST: fill water tank on machine to fill line, it holds almost 1 gallon of water. Plug in the ice maker. It will power up and display the current ambient temperature of the machine. Next, turn ice maker on by pressing the power button. After automatically drawing water from the tank, it will begin making ice. SECOND: Fill the optional 1 galllon jug with water. THIRD: Place optional (must have) silicone cap over the spigot/pout spout of jug. FOURTH: Invert jug over the machine and fit into place on top of holding tank. There may be an initial glug glug bubble indicating water is pouring into ice maker tank but as the water inside holding tank reaches its maximum capacity, it will stop. The optional gallon acts as a secondary water tank. When it eventually empties, just refill gallon jug again with more water. (Make sure your machine water tank has water - to fill line as necessary.) THEN when the current ice making cycle completes and ejects a brick of ice, the machine will draw more water AND you will see the glug glug glug bubble in the gallon jug, as it adds more water to the main machine tank. Using the main tank and the jug will render about 40-50 pounds of ice per 24 hour day, supposedly. For us, I find that 1 gallon of water makes 12 bricks of ice. 1 brick will fill 2 16oz tumblers. Enough for 2-3 days of ice in our 2 person household. We run the machine twice a week. ALL IN ALL a great machine. When (IF) it stops working I’ll update again. When I first got this, hey it was cool. I can put a 2 or 3 gallon bottle of water on top and not have to continuously "feed" the thing water. It makes the ice relatively fast, which was great. I had a list of requirements when purchasing based on lessons learned from my last ice machine. I hated lifting the basket to pour water in, it felt unsanitary. This model is fantastic and when it comes to replenishing water, I give it a 4/5. The water bottle option is much more sanitary and doesn't come in contact with the ice. The size of the bottle does matter though. I bought a 2 gallon bottle with the ring to secure it into place. The first time I found quickly that 2 gallons on top makes it topsy turvy and I am more likely to spill water. A gallon seems to distribute the weight better. Second, the ice shape and size was important. I wanted ice that doesn't melt quick, but easy to put in water bottles. On this, I give it a 3/5. The ice doesn't melt fast but the square shape makes it hard to fit in a water bottle. I am not fond of the huge blocks it comes out as (IMAGINE A SHEET OF ICE CUBES) which lowered the rating. I wanted self cleaning, which this appears to do just fine, I don't have "dirty" ice. The one thing not on my list, but will be from now on is noise. At first, it was a little loud, nothing to bothersome. Now, it's loud and sounds like gears screeching across the entire house. I have to turn it off when on calls so it doesn't take over. For sound, I give it a 1/5. Overall, I don't give this but about a 2.5/5. The benefits are outweighed by the teeth grinding, turn your TV to 20 sounds. ... show more

    • Will not make ice
Got this sat around 11:30 am. Let it sit as suggested for over 3 hours. Started to do everything it said to do goes through all the cycles but doesn’t make ice. Tried again numerous times. Emptying water adding water everything for almost 9 hours. I know I am very persistent. You have to unplug it every time to restart it also. Got up this morning thinking I know it much be something eat so I started again. Still no Ice. Started at 8 am after 2 pm still now making ice always runs for approximately 30 min then has an in E on front panel So I do everything again. I wanted this so badly. But almost ready to hand deliver it back to them. Have called customer service but the mailbox is full. Don’t have a e mail address. HELP. And I don’t have the money to pay postage to send it back. Please send me one that works ... show more
