This product itself is amazing. However the prior bottle that used to mist it onto the hair was far better for application than the current standard stream spray bottle. Luckily I save the old bottle and pour the new bottling product into the old bottle for the same old great result

    • I should have bottled this idea years ago...
As a guy who surfs on the weekends, I always noticed that my hair would always look awesome after surfing... something about getting in the ocean allowed my hair to be a tad stiffer as far as hold, but still soft to the touch (I have very fine blond hair that never stays put). I used to joke that I should put ocean water in a spray bottle and sell it to the masses. Apparently someone else had a similar idea. (except without the fishy smell) The product gives my hair a very similar style. It smells fine, and if you use this instead of water to wet your hair, you can shape it while blow drying with better results. My only ding on the star is the picture shows a professional spray bottle, and what was delivered was a basic spray bottle... just less control. Either way, good product. I should have made this and been rich instead of buying it on Amazon, but what can you do? Guess I am off to go buy a lottery ticket (with good looking hair) ... show more

I'm very pleased with the soft yet full-bodied waves I get from this product. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that I'm not crazy about the fragrance. It's not unpleasant, but not great. The best part is that there is no "crispy" wet look which was the problem I encountered with other products. I have naturally wavy hair in a chin-length layered bob. This product makes styling a breeze. I wash my hair 2 to 3 times a week, applying the product post-shampoo only. A little goes along way, & I can refresh my waves between shampoos by lightly spritzing my hair with water to reactivate the sea salt spray, then scrunching & setting the waves with a diffuser. My hair is colored so I have made a point of using a deep conditioner or a color extending conditioner at least once a week to prevent any possible dryness which some reviewers have mentioned regarding some sea salt sprays. ... show more

This is the best enhancement to add body to fine hair I've found. It lasts the longest. Especially helpful for baby fine and thinning hair.

    • Exactly what I was looking for in a sea salt spray
Hair type: fine, thin, oily hair. I have only good things to say about this product: first, it smells great, like a product that a professional salon stylist would use on your hair. Second, I'm very low maintenance, so beauty and hair products have to be really easy for me. This one is literally spray and go, and it looks great with very little effort. I use it with a curling iron and it gives perfect beachy waves in about five minutes. At first I thought the texture was too heavy and stiff, like hairspray, but the trick is to run a brush through your hair really quickly, and then it's nice and soft. The overall finish is matte, which sounds weird, but it's not greasy or thick, it really does make you look as though you've been at the beach all day. Great product! ... show more

    • Not as happy as lots of other people are....
OK, I must have read a hundred reviews, looking for the best sea salt spray. (Clearly the winner is the Bumble and Bumble that everyone talks about....but I wasn't ready to spend $30.) So, what's the next best thing? I had already gone through a bottle of the "Surf Spray by It Hair Styling", and it worked pretty well, but it was so sticky. I had to wipe down my counters and mop the floor every few days.... I was hoping to find something that gave my short, straight hair that beachy, messy look, but that wasn't so messy to all the flat surfaces in my bathroom. This KMS Cali HairPlay Sea Salt Spray had loads of good reviews, and it was less than half the price of the B+B, so I gave it a try. And the result? It doesn't do anything. I spray it in, I scrunch my hair, it dries, and it looks just the same as before I sprayed it. I've even shaken it up before spraying, thinking all the good stuff had settled on the bottom, but it doesn't matter. It doesn't make my hair feel like I was at the beach at all. It doesn't give my hair body or separation, and I'm thoroughly unimpressed. The good news? It's definitely not as messy or sticky. So good on ya. Guess I'll be shelling out the big bucks for the B+B after all...we'll see how that works out. If not, I'll be back to cleaning my bathroom three times a week. ;) ... show more

My name is Caleb and I have to say that this product is absolutely amazing. The smell of this product smells very clean and it also does its job and adds texture to your hair. You can apply this to towel dried hair for a tousled effect or you can add this product before blow drying your hair to get texture and fullness. I use this product before blow drying personally because I think it looks a lot better that way for my specific hair. This product is totally worth giving a try and is one of my favorite products in my bathroom. I recommend this product to anyone who wants that "just got out of the ocean" look. It is great for messy hair styles or to just provide more texture. Easily a five star product. ... show more
