  • Running Cool at 144hz!
Index gets so hot when at 144hz. This little thing cools the headset significantly. And doesn’t produce much noise. Fits snugly into the compartment and doesn’t use up much power.

  • It Works as Intended! (Recommend to Index Users with Heated Headsets and/or VRChat Users!)
I love this Frunk Mod! It fits Absolutely PERFECTLY and has little to no gap. It's as slim as the fans can go, and pulls quite a bit of heat off the headset! However, it's not as far as Price. ($38) is quite pricey for Slapping "Index" in the title too, but so far I'm happy! The cable is plenty long, and I'm not sure if Power Consumption will be an issue since the fans run only on 2 settings. (ON/OFF) Other complaints about noise, is none. Even with my pretty decent hearing, (wearing earbuds for quite a long time) I can barely hear the MOD run! I have to take off the headset to check if it's actually running! 😆 However, if your planning on taking it out or swapping mods, it WILL feel like your going to break it. Once it's in, it's kinda hard to get out. But after wiggling it around you should be able to get it out. Overall, I'd recommend if your using your Index for Long Sessions in VR. (VRChat users. BUY!) I'm also interested in other Kiwi Products and will be ordering Index Related things from them for a while! ... show more

  • Good cooling, quiet but still audible
* Seems well-built. The plastic housing feels like it could survive an accidental drop or two. * Fits well in my headset. I had no issues with cable length or the retaining clips. * Cools very well. For a demonstration, I stuck a temperature probe into the face area by just sandwiching it between the face guard and my actual face. This means the probe was between my face and the lenses, so it should be a measure of actual temperature felt. With the fan turned off, the temperature got up to 50.5 C during a play session. With the fan turned on, it went down to 33.3 C. That's a 17.2 C difference (31 deg F difference). * The only downside (and it's a small one) is that it's slightly audible. If you have other audio present to drown it out, it won't be noticeable. ... show more

  • An amazing mod for the Index, other reviews are too critical of this little guy.
For just $32, this little mod for the Valve Index is amazing. You noticeably stay much cooler on your face (and forehead for me personally), and the lenses barely fog whatsoever, really not at all. It took me no time at all to install this radiator to the front, and I'm not sure why people are having issues. It's a simple plug-and-play procedure. USB goes in, and the radiator slots right in afterwards. At first it may seem like the cable is too short, but once you press in the far side of the radiator, the whole thing follows and snaps right into place with no issues at all. The fans do have a whine to them, but with the headset on you don't really notice it, and it doesn't interfere with the mic either which is a huge bonus. To be honest, there really are no drawbacks to this, and for the price point it is more than worth it. It works exactly as intended, and really makes a difference if you've never had one before but have played VR for a long time in the past. If one reason you stop playing VR often is because of heat and exhaustion in your head region, this will let you go on for much longer. Definitely recommended. ... show more

  • could be a little stronger, but it manages to work amazing for it being silent.
I used to have a dual USB fan that i had to duct tape to the 2 front openings of the index to keep the headset cool. had it on for about a year and it was really tedious to tape everything back on and clean the dust off. i would always accidentally hurt my fingers from the fans when i tried to position my headset. also the fans were audible through the mic, i had friends complain to me about how loud my fans were because they were on the headset. But with this KIWI USB fan, its compact, quiet, it does a pretty darn good job to cool off the headset from getting too hot. Im honestly a huge FAN of this Valve index fan that easily clips on your headet. it is a little bit pricey, but its sooooo worth it when youd rather risk getting your headset over heated, or having your headset with little to no heat for hours and hours of VR gaming. i play alot of beatsaber, so this does a pretty good heckin job. the sweating part is still an issue tho. so no matter what physically active game you play, this fan wont help that. but it will help dissipate the heat from the headset no matter what game you play. 9.5/10 ... show more

  • Best money spent in some time
I can't hear it and when the headset is hot it pulls away a LOT of hot air. It's super lightweight and looks like it was made by valve as opposed to an aftermarket product. Point being it looks natural and that it SHOULD be there instead of an eyesore. My only (kind of) complaint is that there is a tiny button that both me and my friend couldn't find when we installed it when we noticed it didn't power on. I quickly found it when i pulled the pictures up on amazon. Honestly you don't even need to turn it off so not sure why you would worry about the switch after powering it on. ... show more

  • Perfect fit. Good quality.
Great product, fits well, is very quiet (can only hear it if I'm trying to hear it) keeps your face cool from the airflow and stops fogging (noticeable but not intrusive on your immersion), sometimes it can dry your eyes out if your not moving much for extended time.. definitely happy with this purchase ... show more
