These hair rods have changed the game for me. It used to take me HOURS to heat curl my hair, only for it to fall completely flat in a matter of hours- even with the strongest hair spray. Now, I will say- the real trick to getting beautiful & long lasting curls with the Kitsch Hair Rod is to start the wrapping at top of your head, working kind of diagonally down (almost like you would for French braids), not forgetting to incorporate the back hair, and wrap TIGHTLY around the rod. After hair is fully wrapped, spray it down with your best hairspray. I will then take the ends of the rod, and curl them up & behind my ears (I don’t really love leaving the ends down w/ the poofy scrunchies, I feel like Pippy Longstocking, lol). If sleeping with it on, wear a bonnet! I will wear the rod in my hair and go about my day- and I genuinely get compliments on how cute my hair looks, every time! Which is kind of funny, bc it feels like the equivalent of going out in old school curlers, lol. I typically wash my hair weekly, air dry, and apply the rod nightly. My hair is thick, long, & straight. I get full, voluminous, curls that last all day with these babies. My hair is happy to be wrapped and even with wrapping as tightly as I do, there is zero to minimal breakage. I also believe that going mostly heatless has strengthened my hair massively. NOW ABOUT THE HK JUMBO ROD IN PARTICULAR- I do find I get bigger curls with this… but the curls don’t last as long, as I can’t really get as tight as I normally do with the regular size.     • A No-Heat Curling Method That Is Easy To Implement and Works Incredibly Well

I have been on my wavy hair journey for a couple of years now and have been trying to find ways to boost my natural texture as well as prolong my styling. I have spent my whole life trying and failing to figure out how to have my (what I thought was my straight yet temperamental) hair hold a curl longer than 20 minutes/stepping outside (whichever came first). I could never figure out or have the patience for hot irons (and a style that took an hour would be gone in a quarter of that time usually), I hated putting in and sleeping in rollers. On a bit of a whim I picked this up and gave it a try and - wow. The method was super easy to learn and with a bit of trial and error I have been able to play around with different curl sizes and styles. Whether dry or misted with a bit of salt water I wake up with bouncy, well defined ringlets every morning - all I have to do is shake them out, give my roots a bit of a flip and tousle, and either let them fall where they want to be a bit naturally or separate my ringlets a bit then gently comb them out with a wide tooth comb or my fingers, maybe add a spritz of hair spray if it’s a humid or rainy day then enjoy beautiful loose curls all day. I don’t want to say it’s life changing, but it’s definitely hair changing and it has made doing my hair so much easier. I feel 80% more put together and dressed for the day just by taking out my curl set. I was afraid sleeping on it would be uncomfortable or end up mussing up my curls but even as a side sleeper I don’t find myself having any trouble at all with either comfort or slippage. I do wish that the set came with a claw clip since it’s included in the instructions (especially for the price) but luckily I had one laying around. ... show more

Works very well but the wand is very thin and flimsy so it takes some getting use to. My hair doesn’t hold very well sometimes, I guess it depends on the shampoo and conditioner I am using those times, since it slides off. Also it must be at least 75-80 percent dry for best results. I love this product, although I did make the mistake on my first trial run and put in my hair right out of the shower. Do not do that! You hair just needs to be spritzed a little with water for the curl to hold. I did section my hair straight back then smaller sections one going one way then alternating the other way and so on until all my hair was wrapped. ... show more

I have many friends who use this product and it works well. I would recommend watching videos on exactly how to wrap your hair in it so that it stays. I didn't have luck w/ this but I really love the satin scrunchies.

This one is a gift, but I have the same one and love it! If you’re not sure how to use it to get the best curls, just hop on YouTube and find the best technique that works for you!
