I have been wanting a canister for some time and I do not regret buying this one. It has strong suction and does a great job on carpets & bare flooring. All the tools are useful with convent storage. It has a pull when using, can't explain well, when vacuuming but I think that is due to the suction some how. The suction is adjustable with a slider. You can attach the hose with attachment to the bottom side of the vac., and sit the vac., on its back end for storage, takes up less room. The bag is huge. Hose length is good and power cord good length. I like the fact you can just step on a button and bring the power cord back in. Noise level about med loud, I have had louder. I feel a GOOD vacuum is an investment and I hope to have this one for long time to come, tired of looking for a GOOD vacuum. I do recommend this canister vacuum. ... show more

I had my Shark vacuum for several years, but it got ruined due to water damage. I purchased another Shark vacuum since I loved my old one so much, but it broke within a couple weeks. Thinking it was a fluke, I purchased another one and that ALSO broke within 2 months. I have four cats and foster kittens in a mostly carpeted home, so I NEED a vacuum. I thought I'd try something different and opted for this one, and by golly it works! It's been about 6 months since eI bought this vacuum and I've had no problems. It's obviously bulkier than the traditional upright vacuums, but it didn't take much to look past that. What I like: -adjustable suction power -the tools are useful -since it's bagged, minimal dust escapes back into the air -light for a canister vacuum -it doesn't clog easily -there are FOUR height settings for the brush rollers What I don't like: -the plastic panels keeping the tools in is flimsy -this might just be me, but it's not the easiest to take apart and clean -it does fine on hardwood. It's not amazing, but it picks up enough that I'm satisfied It works, it keeps up with the gaggle of cats and all their shenanigans in my home, and it's great at trapping dust. I've had a Kenmore canister vacuum for years and just love it. It was used and abused. Easy to manuver and use up stars. But then it finally broke into pieces. Literally... Still worked like a champ but there was too many parts broken from abuse. It lasted for 25+ years so I decided to buy another one. The new one is ALMOST as good as the old. If you don't know, there is a groove in the bottom so when you vacuums stairs, you can pull it up by the hose and it will sit on the stairs as you go. Great design. My first gripe is that the cord reel doesn't pull the cord back very well. Which you just push a button on the top of the vacuum and it should pull it all the way in. In the Newer model, the self winding spring just isn't very strong and pulls the cord in like 90%. All but around 3 feet go back in. Then you have to feed it in slowly. Unsure if I just got unlucky with this one but it doesn't pull all the way in. Second gripe is the hardwood floor attachment was re-designed. The old one was a single piece of plastic that stayed on the floor. This new design has a pivot point and when you pull back towards yourself, the head of the hardwood floor attachment lifts off the floor and it loses suction. Bad design! Just bad. Why make a good design worse?? I don't know but they did. The carpet head works well. But they removed the light in the new model. Picks up dirt very well. Who vacuums in the dark anyway? Well, we all do because the hallways, closets, and under beds are dark so they should include it. I did buy the "Amazon Renewed" product which was around $100 cheaper but it just came in a beat up box but the vacuum was unused and new. Plastic was still on it! Take a gamble and go for the Amazon Renewed one. You will save a lot! And don't worry about the purple color. It's a vacuum and looks fine! I was worried reading bad reviews. I must say i don't agree with them, for this particular model - purple. It's just as good as the original white kenmore that i still have and love it's design, it's even better. It includes all needed attachments, the crevice tube lacks holes (from the original design) which made it near useless, it includes a small but able passive brush, which i previously had to steal from somewhere else. The passive floor brush rotates much better. Attachments store inside (thank you!). On the down side (if at all) it's not the lightest, but ok for me. The active brush and the vac body both weigh something substantial. I shopped around (in physical stores), saw miele - felt cheap and overpriced and not designed the best, was sure it won't work for my application (see below). Kenmore model teal was flimsy indeed. Purple one is not. Quick attach system is strong and easy, so is the tube. I put my old kenmore through abuse, hopefully this one will also handle it. My main application is rough tile and wood floors on my farm, where i have cats and lots of dirt from the outdoors. Also i clean cat fur from various pillows, couch etc. This vac works great. I used a shopvac before, and struggled. I use motorized brush on the floor at the xlo setting, and the motorized pet powermate on pillows etc. My old kenmore stays at my main home. ... show more
