  • Love those, high quality, now doing 0.7x macro w Sony E-Mount 24-105mm F4
Size: 10/16mm
Using both tubes (10+16) on the A7R4 full frame sensor resulted in a 0.7x magnification @ 105mm, versus 0.33x originally. Leaves more than 3" distance between the glass and the subject. Autofocus still works perfectly. Also tried them on the 16-35mm GM, but the distance to subject is minuscule, not appropriate for my needs. These tubes are well made, with black felt / velvet in the inner barrel to cut down on stray reflections. Most of the cheaper tubes seem to be just bare plastic barrel, with evident glare. Except maybe the Vello Deluxe ? Reminder: the focal plane w tubes remains convex (spherical) per your lens's focus plane's shape. A true macro lens is supposed to have a flat focal plane. So on flat subjects, w tubes and fast aperture, if the center is in focus, the edges won't be, and vice versa. So, it's good for concave subjects ("better" than true macro lens), but will require more careful focusing techniques (small aperture or stacking) for flat or convex subjects (like insects). • I don't think you can get much better.
Size: 10/16mm
These tubes are pretty much exactly what I expected and wanted. They are solid with a good, smooth locking mechanism and definitely precision, with good electronic contacts that should last a long time. They are flocked on the inside to prevent light difraction/reflections, and though I don't think this would usually be a major advantage, it also isn't something that is bad to have (though it does mean you might want to make a little extra effort on keeping them clean). My only criticism is that there is a little (only a very little) play in the connections, and for the price I would have hoped these things would lock tight as a drum. There also seems to be a very small delay in autofocus, but it is not bad and to be expected really. I would say that with these tubes, you are getting quality... maybe a pricey compare to how cheap tubes can be, but I also tend to believe that you shouldn't skimp on your gear. You need not always spend top dollar but you should aim to get good equipment, and if you want a good product that you will be able to rely on for a long time, these tubes should satisfy that desire. ... show more

  • Okay I guess if you want to use one tube at a time
Size: 10/16mm
Nice tubes but when I use them together the camera say no lens attached

  • Don't waste your money
Size: 10/16mm
Have had these for about a year now. They work, but don't work as well as you'd expect for the price. I would be annoyed if I had even spent $40 on them. The fit is so loose between the tube and camera mount that a lens tripod mount is out of the question. I have many adapters of all kinds, some cheap, some more expenses, none as expensive as this, and they all have a much better fit with the Sony E body. The build quality is good otherwise and the camera functions work as expected. ... show more

  • Very great for the money!
Size: 10/16mm
The picture quick it’s is fantastic! Very easy to use and does not feel awkward. The only issue I have is that when putting the adapter onto the camera, it feels very rough as if metal is rubbing together just a bit too aggressively. Other than that, works like a dream!

  • Waste of money
Size: 10/16mm
Fits loose, autofocus problems. Doesn’t improve focal length much if at all. Meh

  • Perfect!

Didn't mess with the rest after research on actual photography equipment review sites elsewhere. Went with the best and could not be happier! Well worth the investment - you will not be disappointed. Oh, and this is a real person's independent review, and yes I am a pro photog. Photo is from recent winter wedding. ... show more
