We've got some paddle boarding trips planned soon and needed another vest for me or my sons to wear...this vest should be more than adequate. I ordered the adult size and it's plenty big for me, although I'm fairly slender ( 5'9" and about 155 lbs) Still, there was plenty of slack to let out in the buckles. I tried it out in our pool and it seemed to work as well as any other life vest I've worn...there's no crotch strap to keep it from floating up towards your head, but it didn't appear to be an issue for me. Obviously, life jackets aren't made to be super comfortable, so you just have to put up with a certain amount of bulk, but this one does manage it well. Once you have it adjusted, it stays out of the way better than most in its price range, so it's probably going to be my first choice when I'm heading out to the lake in the future. Protip: take advantage of those exposed straps to attach a Fox40 or similar extremely loud pealess whistle. If you find yourself depending on your life jacket, it's going to be a lot easier to blow a whistle than try to yell for help. ... show more

When you order a Life Jacket/Personal Floatation Device with a size label stating “Adult”, one would expect it to easily fit a reasonably fit normal sized adult (5’11”, 185 lbs.) but sadly this vest is way too small and can barely fit my 5’5” 105 lb. daughter. Nice quality, light life jacket, and very easy to adjust to fit. I try to have these on hand for the whole family during the summer months when you never know when you'll be boating, floating the river, taking a trip to lake, etc..... The fit was perfect as well, although I appreciate that a chest circumference range is listed on the product as well for reference. This Kemp USA General Purpose Life Jacket Vest is impressive, especially for the current price of $20. The materials are sturdy and I like that there are three connection points. The fact that this is USCG-approved means a lot to me, I wouldn't buy a life vest without this peace of mind. The straps are adjustable to fit many body types. I am 5'2" and weigh 110 pounds; my husband is 5'10" and weighs 175 pounds, and this life vest fits both of us.
