Will admit to being more than a bit skeptical about buying these - can honestly say well worth the investment - especially if you've spent as many years looking for the perfect set of hand clippers/cutters like we've both done perpetually seeking ones that 'feel' better than the last ones we fell in love with. They works far better than we both expected. Wish we hadn't waited so long. Now, after buying these, picking up regular hand-operated clippers is as distasteful as the thought of needing to saddle up the horse just to go to the store for milk and eggs. The quality of the tool is outstanding, battery life is hours longer than than the human stamina to operate it, not because it's hard to operate but just the opposite - with it, we find cut 10x more than we would have using hand clippers in the same time. And being able to charge both batteries at the same time is a great feature - so is the USB port we didn't think we'd use (keep the phone charged up outside). We have a fairly large collection of 'his' and 'hers' only hand clippers, so we were concerned about the ergonomics of successfully sharing this expensive tool - concerned how it would feel 'in hand' and that it would work as easily with the non-dominant L or R hand. Turns out it's all great - kudo's to the design team! Works as well for both my beefy thick fingered XL hands as for my wife's M's. Trigger response is great: non-fatiguing and easy to use. Just enough force to easily actuate while still definitive enough there should be no accidental (and dangerous) misfires - even wearing gloves. In one season, we've already clocked countless thousands of cuts with these clippers. We laugh because we like using them so much, we find ourselves looking for more things that might need trimming! We didn't get the kit with the super long extension and kind of glad we didn't as we weren't sure how much we'd use it and the case is so much larger. But if you need it, guessing it will work great. That said the short extension is really useful. But even the short extension is somewhat tiring even with the battery weight at your hand instead out at the end with the tool. We find we can use the plain tool/battery in hand for hours, but maybe an hour at a time with the short extension - and far less if it's used outstretched instead of just overhead. Do not ignore using the locking latches after you twist on the battery - especially when using the extensions. If you temporarily jam the blade trying to cut something a little too big, if you didn't latch both the battery and tool to the extension, you might find it's easy to accidentally disengage everything leaving the expensive cutter way up in the tree and possibly very challenging to retrieve. Will admit to being somewhat tool-happy, this is one of best additions to our expansive collection in years! Don't think you will regret this one too much. ... show more

These are really electric loppers. Easily cuts through 1.5 inch branches, but also did fine pruning (you can set two max openings). I am cleaning up several acres of parkland and forest for fire safety. Cleared about 1/4 acre with hundreds of invasive shoots and low hanging oak branches in less than 6 hours using only 15% of indicated battery life. I purchased the highly rated, slightly lighter Komok for my wife. It is a fine tool, but Kebtek is a much better value (bought another one for her). The Kebtek package came with two spare blades (Komok had no spare blades), nice tool bag, good instructions, two batteries, plastic case. Another Kebtek benefit is the availability of extension handles (32" and 72") which make cleaning up lower branches much easier. Like the Komok, most electric pruners only open 1.2". The extra .4" opening of the Kebtek is huge in terms of how much and how quickly one can clear space. Its small size and lack of long handles allows you to cut pretty large shoots in awkward places. Much less fatiguing than manual loppers and pruners, especially for us older gardeners with arthritis and bad rotator cuffs. So far, high quality construction under heavy loads. Quicker, safer, and cleaner than the chain saw for trimming small limbs off downed trees. Absolutely, my new favorite tool. One caution - these are extremely sharp and powerful. They are commercial grade tools, not toys. They can easily lop off a finger. NEVER get your other hand close to the cut. It's tempting to go fast through a stand of brush, but take your time and be aware. Keep away from children! ... show more

Quick summary: works like a charm, and I would buy again. Faced with hundreds of frost damaged azalea branches (both mature and thick and new and thin) combined with arthritic thumbs, I was drawn to a name brand tool just introduced by the manufacturer. After some research showed these have been around for awhile from other brands and they are generally expensive, my first thought was to stay within my battery platforms (DeWalt, Rioby, and Rigid). Countless reviews and YouTube vids didn’t indicate a clear best among these three. THEN I found some vids posted by professional landscapers in the US and Great Britain. Most of their tool reviews were for professional equipment costing nearly $1000 plus batteries, and none were household names. However, several reviews mentioned the Keptek shears they carry for quick and dirty jobs as well as a good choice for non professionals. Key attributes for the pros was the ability to set two different jaw settings (thin and thick branches) which saves time when you make a living doing this. My biggest challenge was yet another new battery to buy. I did catch a sale on Amazon so bought the kit. That has two batteries, spare blades, and a charger. The batteries were over 80% on arrival, so I set to work. After all day with all types of branches (we live on an acre of neglected thickets with flowers interspersed), my hands were not tired or in pain, and the first battery had over half the charge remaining. Cuts were clean, and the unit is very maneuverable in brush. Controls are simple, but there is a small learning curve. Essentially, there is a power switch, then the trigger sets everything else (double pull, long pull, etc). If you can get a branch in the jaws, this will cut it (oak, azalea, birch, and lord knows what, around here). The jaws are not as fast as the professsional tools. That’s likely a good thing because it’s fully capable of cutting off a finger. You do have to lubricate the blade a couple of times during a long session, that that is easy with the supplied (empty) bottle.
