This is the second time I used this kind of steamer. I reconized that the first one I have a wrong way to use it. And I can not felt the greatness of this little magic. I love steam food. This steamer is very easy to clean just with little soapy water is good enough. And the left over steamed water will never stain the container, it also in clean condition after you used it and leave for half hour. The hard water stains on usely after three weeks, then you can easily rubbed it with a smooth sponge and the pill will easily fall off and can be use again for the next 30 times. I loved this item has three container capacity, and I like the timer. It will shut off after all the water is steamer. It really is a peace of mind cooking dream. I was irate that my steamer timer control knob had a broken stem, and after gluing and fiddling with it a while, I researched new steamers. I loved the one I had, and I thought it was relatively new. Surprise! I bought it over five years ago, and use it at least three times a week. I got my money's worth, so I bought the exact same thing again. The three tiers are wonderful, especially if you're steaming enough corn on the cob for a party, or six acorn squash at once. I dislike the rice bowl, it's just too small, but by using an old bowl from an ancient steamer I overcame that problem. I always fill the reservoir to the max, and it has never run dry before the timer turns the unit off. I have very hard water, but a quick swish with vinegar and the heater/bowl rinses clean. Carrots will eventually stain the bowls, after about four years of constant use. I don't care, but I know some people do. By putting the densest veggies in the bottom tier (broccoli), and the lightest on top (snow peas) everything comes out perfect at the same time. I don't use the instruction booklet times, I've worked out the timing I like, I do recommend starting at a shorter time, and adding minutes as needed, overcooked veggies are yucky (technical term) and cannot be repaired! ... show more

    • A very nice steamer and reasonably priced
The top 3 reasons I recommend this steamer is 1. It's made of a "soft" plastic. This is a replacement steamer because my previous steamer was made of a "hard" plastic and it cracked in several places. 2. It includes a rice bowl. Not only is this bowl great for making rice but for heating up leftover meats. I like steaming leftover meat because the steam will keep the meat moist, and with the bowl collective steam makes a nice juice that adds extra flavor. I don't know why most steamers no longer include a rice making bowl. 3. I like how the steaming bowls stack together when not in use. Makes storage more convenient and compact. This steamer is quiet. Also a convenient size for 1 person or an entire family. You can also hard boil eggs with this steamer. I'm pleased with my purchase and would definitely recommend this steamer. ... show more

I really like this steamer. You can steam a lot of veggies, etc at one time because the trays are quite large. On the downside, the timer sticks sometimes which may cause the steamer to stay on, being a bit of a fire hazard.
