The release lever sometimes falls behind the ratchet gear instead of on it thus jamming the crimper from closing fully until the release lever to bumped.. The crimper still works but adds the annoyance of having to start the crimp over after bumping the lever. The lever has a spring on it and I can't tell if it's too weak or too strong. One star off each for ease and sturdiness. I'm guessing it's a fluke and I had the bad luck to get a flawed unit. ... show more

If you are into car audio and not using these then you need to start. These make attaching your speaker wires to your amp so much easier. You also don’t have to worry about the wire breaking apart and coming out. For your ground and power cable buy a set of the larger ferrules and crimper the connections are so much more better and secure ... show more

As a broadcast engineer with 40+ years experience I'd have to say this is the most useless crimper I've run across. I'd hoped to be able to use this on spade lugs, etc. but the 'jaws' are too small to pass the connector. So, all you're left with is a tool that puts solid ends on bare wires. In the CE lands this would be handy, in the U. S. not so much. I'll put it on a shelf and let it gather dust until the one or two times I may need it. ... show more
