    • Small but sturdy locking cabinet with easy access
Not really a safe but a nice, sturdy, heavy-duty locking steel cabinet with quick biometric access. Holds my 4 long-barreled trap shotguns in canvas cases with shelf removed. Fingerprint & keypad setup are a bit confusing but the trick is to quickly press the Reset button & wait a few seconds for both keypad lights to come on before entering a new code or fingerprint. Do not press & hold the button unless you want to factory reset. A bit top heavy due to small footprint so be sure to anchor to the wall so it doesn't tip over especially when the door is open. Pistol pockets are nylon and a bit flimsy but hold OK. Bottom line is this will keep guns locked and kids safe. UPDATE: Very friendly reseller with good communication.     • Inaccurate product photos, horrible hinge design

The gun cabinet (this is not a safe) arrived well packaged, double boxed with corner protection. The shipping company managed to impale it with what likely was a forklift fork based on the size and shape of the hole. There was a small chip in the paint but I'm not going to fault Kaer for this as it was pure negligence on the shipper's part. I didn't expect a lot for the price of this item, but from the photos it looked decent. When it arrived however there was one glaring flaw, and something missing from the product photos: the horrible, cheap exposed hinges. The first product photo on Amazon shows no exposed hinges at all. If you look closely at the later photos you can see exposed hinges, but they're neatly tucked away in the cabinet with just the main part of the hinge exposed. In reality they're just grafted to the surface of the door with zero protection. They look like they were pounded out of sheet metal and then welded on with a MIG welder. There's also only two of them. It would take a guy with a Harbor Freight angle grinder about 30 seconds to cut both hinges. Even worse the door locking pins are only on the left side of the door, so when the hinges get cut the door would just fall off. There's not much point in having big steel bars on one side when you have 1/8" mild steel hinges on the other side. I doubt this would even hold up to moderate effort with a pry bar. This is good enough to keep your kids away from your guns and stop a random drug addict who kicked in your door while you were at work for a quick smash and grab, but wouldn't stop even a poorly prepared burglar with a $3 pry bar. Even a simple piano hinge wouldn't have cost much more and would have been more secure. I'd have given this a 5 star review given it's price point (it's a cheap gun locker after all). If it was just the hinges I might give it a 4 star review, but add in the misleading product photos and this is solidly in the "do not buy" category. ... show more

Purchased this safe to secure a rifle that I had sitting in my home office. Kids have gotten a bit older and recently started asking me questions about it. That prompted me to find a safe like this. Few important notes: the safe came very well packaged as it included a thick internal cardboard that hugged the product itself, plus the packaging cardboard around it ron addition to metallic protectors on all the corners. The safe itself is fairly heavy and feels strong and secure overall. I do not plan on bolting it to a walk, as I am comfortable with it tucked in the corner of the room. Came broken/not functioning. Apparently manufacturer forgot to assemble the safe properly, so mine just wasn't working, cotter pin, that is supposed to hold plate with deadbolts in place, is missing, so it was impossible to lock the safe door. I had to disassemble and manually fix it with a nail. Disassembly itself was a pain because covering plate kinda rusted to the safe door and required some effort to detach. Now regarding the safe itself: fingerprint sensor is really slow and inaccurate. I basically recorded one of my fingers 15 times from slightly different angles to be able to open the safe quickly enough. When the door is open there is a LED light that won't stay ON for long enough time, this light activates only on opening, not by motion. Also while door is open handle with deadbolts tend to slide into the locked position, so it requires to unlock the safe again to deactivate/hide the deadbolts before closing it. Sensor keys on numpad are in a weird order, not like on a phone or on atm machine, so it won't be easy to remember a code in your regular pattern, also it's touch sensor/not real buttons, which renders it highly uncomfortable to unlock the safe with a code in the dark. At least they managed to make it big enough to fit shotgun and glock box. ... show more

Very good size I love the material it's very solid not like the others ,3 in 1 lock is very good too you can use fingerprint, code and keys also I love that when you open it it has LED light stays for few seconds this is my favorite safe I highly recommend

This thing is perfect to store your valuables in that you don't want other people to have access to. It's not super heavy, so you can definitely carry it upstairs, and it comes with bolts so you can bolt or to a wall! There was no assembly which was nice, and the locking mechanism is easy to use. The only issue I have is that the pockets for the pistols that are on the door or hard plastic in the pictures, but are actually made of nylon or some similar material so putting a larger firearm (such as the revolver shown in the picture) takes a moment because I have to hold the top open prior to storing the gun. The safe it self is alright quality. Everything works and was delivered in new condition. The safe itself isn't deep enough though for ar15s with scopes. The 3 I have in there I have to angle to get the door the close without hitting the scopes. Probably best for shotguns or other rifles with small red dots. ... show more

After reading the instructions, after about 10 minutes of debugging, I chose to use both password and fingerprint unlocking. I think the best one should be fingerprint unlocking.
