The first thing I noticed is how great the packing ones, and how sturdy each piece was. The unit has a bank style vault door with solid bolts. The top compartment is keyed so it makes it nice having access to it with out having to get into the main part of the safe. The main area has removable racks, also a light. I was really happy with the light being able to see inside really easy even in the dark with out having to have quick access to a light. The mesh panels in the back and sides allow you to configure the safe in a bunch of different ways. I would 100% recommend this for everyone if you need an inexpensive option for a gun safe. ... show more

A while back I bought two of these safes to hold my rifles when I moved into an apartment and wanted to keep them secure while I was away for work. I ordered two because I thought the listed storage capacity was optimistic. This much is true. You might be able to fit 8 to 12 bolt-action rifles or .22s in this unit, but if you're looking to store anything more substantial, the limit will be between 4 and 5. The safe comes with foam inserts to hold the barrels of long guns, and they mount to the inside with a sort of square "pegboard" system. As far as assembly, the safe comes with the walls and door, as well as the floor, internal shelf, and top, all in separate pieces. The door is pretty sturdy, with bank-vault style bolts locking into the doorframe. Assembly is doable alone, but I recommend getting a buddy to help. Fitment was good enough that I didn't feel like I was struggling, and other than nearly dropping the door on myself during assembly, everything went smoothly. For both units, the process took about an hour from start to finish. There was some frustration, particularly as the first unit came together, because all of the assembly points are located on the inside; this is good for security, but makes initial assembly somewhat troublesome. Normally, sturdiness would be a concern, but at this price point it's obvious you're getting more of a sturdy locker than a true safe. The bolts that hold it together are all on the inside, so as long as the safe is locked, I think it would be a sufficient deterrent to anyone trying to take your stuff. Once you have some guns inside, the unit becomes heavy enough that you couldn't safely move it, so that's another point for theft deterrence. It has a keypad lock, and an actual keyed lock as a backup. Personally, I just use the keys supplied with the safe and don't even bother with the keypad since I'm the only one that will be accessing the safe's contents. There's another chamber that takes up the top section of the safe, accessible only with a key, meant for pistols and other related accessories. It's less sturdy than the main door, but still stout enough for my liking. The only downside with this upper storage box is that it limits the internal volume of the main safe, and consequentially limits the length of long guns that can be stored. This is only a problem if you have anything long like a hunting shotgun or an old military bolt-action rifle you want to store. Overall, this safe is a good option if you don't have either the money or the space for a full-size gun safe. It's sturdy enough that I expect any potential burglar would just try to find something less cumbersome to burgle. It's light and small enough to fit in an apartment or smaller home, and very appealing if you're balling on a budget. It is sufficient for keeping your guns safely away from anyone who doesn't need to get their hands on them. Just be aware that you are getting what you pay for. If you have a larger collection or are planning to, I would recommend saving up to get a larger, sturdier safe from a well-known manufacturer. ... show more

I love this safe LOCKER. Internal dimensions fit my Pelikan case laying down. It's the perfect size, weight, and price for me. Pay extra attention to leveling the unit when installing or the frame can bend and torque just enough to where the top door isn't perfectly squared with the door frame. This is a locker with a reinforced door; remember highschool? The build was easy save for getting the lid on. I had to stop trying and just stare at the pieces for several minutes. Note the mounting grate holes are not standard pegboard distances from each other, hole size, or shape. Keys feel cheesy and the keyhole cover slider and battery door are extremely low quality, but the keypad is a big win. Zero flaws. ... show more

I agree with the other non mechanical engineer reviewer. This was a straightforward build. I did experience an issue with the back panel, but watched the video that is in the item description and quickly figured out what I did wrong. I would watch the video and pay attention to the cut outs while installing. Setting the password was very simple. I am unsure of how to use the emergency power box that is supplied. I am assuming it’s to plug in to the front where the keypad is though. No way to charge it, so I assume it has an expected shelf life. LED light is only activated when there is low light. Update: this safe does not fit 8 or 12 long guns as described. It May fit 8 if they do not have a single attachment (scope or red dot). Looked into returning and not worth the hassle. ... show more

DUE TO PANDEMIC I BECAME AN AMAZON PURCHASER JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. I NEVER HAD AN ISSUE WITH ANY PRODUCT. I DID MY DUE DELIGENCE OF LOOKING AT REVIEWS AND DID MY HOMEWORK WHEN IT CAME TO SPECIFIC PRODUCTS. I WENT AHEAD AND PURCHASE THIS ITEM. I HAVE GRANDCHILDREN AND WANTED TO KEEP THEM SAFE BY STORING MY HANDGUNS IN A SAFE LOCATION. THIS ITEM ARRIVED IN A BOX THAT WEIGHT APPROXIMATELY 80 TO 100 POUNDS. I OPEN THE FOX AND REMOVED ALL THE PIECES. I READ THE INSTRUCTIONS AND WATCHED THE YOUTUBE VIDEO. I BEGAN TO PUT IT TOGETHER. I COULD NOT BELIEVE THAT THE HOLES WERE NOT PRE-DRILL ON THE PRODUCT. I HAD TO DRILL THE HOLES TO PUT IT TOGETHER. THE PRODUCT IS OF POOR QUALITY. IT TOOK ME 3 HOURS TO PUT TOGETHER. I HAD TO FORCE SOME PARTS TO FIT. DO NOT BUY THIS. SAVE YOUR MONEY. It's not easy to put together, one of the barrel rests don't line up with the mounting holes right, and it won't hold anywhere near what it claims. I have two rifles and one shotgun in it and it's almost full. Now it's not all bad though. If you need something fast that won't require your floor to be reinforced because of the weight it'll work. It is good for keeping kids away from firearms but it doesn't offer any real security against thieft. It's good if you're in a pinch but I wouldn't consider it a long term solution.
