Top Amazon Reviews

  • Initial Observations K&F Concept TM2534T Tripod
These are my first thought after unpacking my new tripod: There are many YouTube videos showing unboxing of this tripod, and there seems to be some reviews with concerns about the packaging. Do not be concerned. The unit is packed sufficiently to ship without damage. There is no need to pack items as if they are artifacts from a geological dig site. Besides, Amazon is amazing when it comes to these issues. Just be sure to file claims within the proper time frames. Next, the tripod may only weigh 3.2 pounds, or so, but it feels much heavier. That may be due to the hefty carry case included. It is well made from heavy denier nylon canvas., so it, by itself, weighs a ton, and will likely last to the next ice age. But weight is the main reason I bought this tripod. I need something light weight to be able to mange the walks I will take with my gear. I think I missed that mark with this purchase. This is not a strike against the tripod. I think I will make do with the weight factor because of how well made this device is. Also, I fear a lighter weight tripod will be more unsteady. But for those looking for a light weight solution, consider the trade off and be aware this is not the lightest tripod available. For those looking for a sturdy tripod at a reasonable price, stop hesitating. Now, about build quality. I'm impressed. I honestly thought this will be like so many other products today. Cheaply made with just enough going for it to last the warranty period. I am pleasantly surprised and find the tripod to be constructed of quality materials and well made. I honestly feel that if not abused this product will last a long time. To be honest, It seems to be as well made as any $300 tripod. I say this because during my research, several YouTube videos suggested you should expect to pay at least that much for a quality tripod. Well, from what I have seen, while I agree, you get what you pay for, there are some anomalies in life, and this is one of those occasions. I won't mention names, but from what I have seen, this tripod is definitely as good as those other guys. Legs are stiff. This is a good thing. Not to stiff, but it takes some effort to disengage them and move them to position. Personally, I like that. Perhaps they will loosen with use. I hope not and time will tell. But I like the stiffness in them now because I, for one, don't feel like I will move the legs so quickly that I smash my fingers. I've had that experience and it is not fun! I feel a sense of security in the stiffness of the adjustments. You'll have to make the adjustments to know what I mean. One nuance I immediately realize. Leave the adjustment knobs of the ball head and pan head a bit loose. This will allow the head to move out of the way when closing the legs. I fear damage otherwise. Certainly, if you have them tight then the legs will not close completely. You also run risk of friction damage to the head by forcing the head to move when it is locked down. Then later you will complain it wanders when you tighten it. I can't say what the durability of the tripod will be, however, I feel confident it will outlast me. If taken care of, of course. Time will tell and I will be back with additional thoughts after some use. But my initial thoughts are very positive about this tripod. I'd say get it if you are riding the fence. ... show more

This is one of the coolest tripods I’ve ever had the pleasure of using. It has some awesome features that you’re not going to get with many other tripods. One of my favorites things about this tripod is the detachable mono-pod leg. It unscrews quickly and easily which is great for a quick setup. The ball head is really solid, it’s sturdy enough that you can keep your camera steady even with a lengthy lens attached. It also has an amazing range in height capability due to the 180 degree turning legs. With the legs and middle column fully extended this tripod stands over six feet tall, and with the legs flipped upside down the rod reaches down extremely low to ground, making it perfect for macro photography. I should mention that this tripod’s main use will be found in photography, it can be used for videography as well, but is not a traditional videography tripod. Another thing I like about this tripod is because of how much range the legs have, this tripod can get low down to the ground, and in some cases, is a great substitute for a high-hat. The tripod overall is intuitive in its use, the only feature I had trouble figuring out at first was the middle column’s horizontal feature. After playing around with it for a while I was able to figure it out and now love using it. Another great thing about this tripod is how light weight it is. My other tripods are far heavier and can be a real hassle to bring with me to go to my shooting locations, so the fact that this tripod is so compactable and light weight makes it convenient to take with me. The carrying case has real clean look to it as well and is super comfortable to wear. Overall this an awesome product that does a really great job at covering all its bases in terms of versatility for photography usage. The quality is stellar despite its low cost, and is a purchase you are NOT going to regret. ... show more
