VC's KW-M865BW digital multimedia receiver features built-in Wi-Fi, giving you the convenience of wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto without the cables. Add on tons of music sources, phone features, hands-free calling, and innovative sound-shaping tools, all accessible from a customizable 6.8" Clear Resistive touchscreen. VC gives you three camera inputs for a cargo cam, a front-view cam, a backup cam, and more, plus you can use the A/V input for a camera if needed. With compatible vehicles and the addition of a select iDatalink Maestro module, you can retain blind spot cameras thanks to these extra camera inputs. And if you've got a backseat crew that needs a distraction, you can feed them some video by connecting additional monitors to this receiver's video output.

Sounds very good and it has endless options for sound tuning. It boots up fairly fast and the wireless Apple play connects to my phone within few seconds every time. The screen is nice and clear but it’s not an HD screen. In a convertible with the top down it’s really hard to see what’s going on. Issues : The installation instructions is somewhat basic but enough to help you with “ normal “ system installation. If you need more help than that - you’re on your own ! This thing has so many options with multiple cameras inputs, two sound zones, multiple amplifiers control, few AV lines in and outs and much more. The instruction does not cover any of that. If you understand or have some experience, you’ll be fine, otherwise have it professionally installed ! The same goes for the sound settings and other important system setting. There is zero instruction of how to set up the amazing features this unit has to offer. The operating system is OK but it takes some getting used to. I don’t like the complete separation between the Apple car play and the actual system operating system and I think it could have been designed in a better way, but I’m not a software engineer so maybe this is as good as they could make it. ... show more

Excellent function after connecting to the factory USB plug (with an aftermarket USB adapter for the factory harness) and installing the mic behind an unused vent in the dashboard. It looks good and works well. A volume knob would be better than the up/down buttons, but at least it has that physical volume control instead of relying on the touchscreen. Apple Carplay works well in wireless and wired modes. Have not tried Android Auto. I did not bother connecting the parking-brake switch yet, and it works fine without that. The rest of the wiring was typical for any aftermarket deck. Note that the GPS antenna needs to be installed in a clear location, not buried in the dashboard, because Carplay relies on it. ... show more

I was so shocked this stereo is flawless it works amazing the sound quality and build are superior. It’s a JVC/ Kenwood so you’re getting the best of both manufacturers. For the price it’s a steal!

    • Very nice head unit
Everything is great, I paried mine with the Maestro and it made install very easy and retained factory steering wheel functions. I give it 4 stars for 2 reasons. Instead of automatically connecting to wireless Android Auto, you have to click the button to connect. The second is a bigger one for me. I carry 2 phones for work and this was supposed to have the ability to connect 2 phones via Bluetooth. Whenever I connect 2 phones, they both continuously drop and or won't connect. One phone at a time works perfectly. ... show more

Had a stereo place install which cost me 600. But if I bought this system at a stereo shop it was listed as 1200. So, it ended it being 1200 total. I installed it in a Camaro. Easy to use. Bought a backup camera for 60. on amazon had them install it for 150.

This JVC double din unit has been great. It’s my second one and the quality is the reason why I purchased a second one. The different options for displays and live graphics make it feel much more modern and fun than other brands that don’t have live displays and are very basic bland and boring. The only gripe I have about it is that I wish it had a volume knob. But I know if it had a volume knob then the screen would’ve been smaller. Other than that, I highly recommend! ... show more

    • I will never buy a jvc again. Usbs wont register android auto.
Paid to get it installed. Android auto when i plug it in doesn work. They said i can ship it back so they can fix it but then i have to pay to get it taken out and then installed again. Pissed i paid this much for a junk radio. Plus when in android auto and navigation talks it will randomly turn the volume down as the song but keep it down. Like way down. Even after siri talks. It doesn go back to normal unless u disconnect and re connect . Do not buy. ... show more

    • Easy to set up and operate
I got this JVC for my wife for her birthday present, she was happy to have a rear view camera now and her stock system sounds so much better no with the out put the JVC has and the graphic EQ settings allowing me to better tune the sound for her. She told me i would have to show her how to operate it, but she was able to pick it up real quick with out my help. I just might have to get one for my car. I cant wait to add the front and side cameras to see how well the 4 camera inputs operate. ... show more
