  • Good quality for the price
This does everything I need for a bluetooth device. However, this does not get HD radio and it is hard to switch between phones if you have more than one paired.

  • LOVE THIS UNIT!
I absolutely love this unit, even at twice the price. I own an older Kia Sorento that was built before Bluetooth was being put into their vehicles. I bought this primarily for the Bluetooth connectivity and steering wheel control compatibility. I am an advocate of reducing distracted driving and could not in good conscience operate my vehicle without a functional hands-free device. The call quality is as good or better than any factory installed hands-free system and my callers have no trouble understanding me. I cannot say that for any of the other solutions I have tried and I have been through many "hands-free" solutions in the past and none worked well enough to be an effective alternative. The hands-free voice dialing works really well with my phone, which is usually one of the first failures in other aftermarket hands-free devices. My unit quickly paired with my Samsung Galaxy III device and the features work well. This unit supports more Bluetooth features on the Samsung Galaxy than any other smart phone line. The AUX wired input connection to USB on iOS has additional functionality that trumps the Galaxy, but not in Bluetooth. Since I don't want the wires and cables in the way and don't have an iOS phone, not an issue at all. The Pandora feature is really not my favorite as it blanks the screen on my phone and using the stereo itself for the display and control information. This causes me to take my eyes off the road too long. But I found out that Pandora works just as well in regular Bluetooth mode and I get full display and full control with my phone which is mounted closer to my line of sight. All of my audio/sound applications work through the Bluetooth mode and now I have no more dangling wires to deal with, unless I am charging my phone. There are a couple of small annoyances, but not enough to take away the five star rating. The display on the unit gets hung up sometimes, displaying STOP or PAUSE in Bluetooth mode. When Bluetooth audio is playing, the display should revert back to the default (i.e. the time). But this is simply a minor irritant and is only because I am anal about it. It may also be a function of the phone and not the unit itself, so not an issue. For the price, you simply cannot beat this unit. No way, no how. If you want to buy this unit, check out the JVC website for compatibility with your specific smartphone. It DOES NOT have a CD player. Not a problem as I haven't played a CD in an automobile since AUX input jacks and MP3 players hit the scene. ... show more

  • Color me happy!
I'd bought the earlier model of this stereo for my wife, the 50BT. She loves it, and uses the Bluetooth daily for handsfree calling in her mini-van with her Samsung Galaxy S2. I have an old 84 Chevy truck which is quite noisy. I had a nice Sony AM-FM CD in it, that I'd bought from Amazon. It was a great stereo, but didn't have Bluetooth. I'd looked at Bluetooth headsets, but hate those ear-pieces, and a Blue Parrot is about the same money as this stereo is, and I really don't care for wearing a headset either. Since my wife loves her JVC stereo so much, I decided to buy this JVC KDX250BT. It arrived today. Usually, Amazon is very fast delivering to me, but this took longer than normal to arrive; 11 Days! I swapped it out with my old Sony today, and installation was very simple. Once it was installed, I turned on the Bluetooth on my Samsung Galaxy Note II and hit "Scan". Instantly, it recognized the JVC stereo, and the stereo recognized it. I simply pressed in on the stereo volume knob, and the two paired up instantly. The phone asked me if I wanted to share my contacts list with the stereo, and I clicked okay. I mounted the stereo mic up on my steering column, about a foot away from my face. I pressed the stereo "Phone" button, and used the volume knob to scroll through my contacts list to get my wife's number, and pressed in on the volume button again to have it dial. Even with my old 6-banger engine running, my wife had no problem hearing me talking, using the stereo's basic settings. I adjusted the stereo volume to better hear her. Simple as that, I was set. I love this thing! After testing out the calling feature, I used my Samsung's stock media player to try out streaming music to the stereo. Immediately, I was getting music through the stereo, and it sounded great. Someone mentioned this stereo not having good AM-FM reception. I did not find that to be the case at all. It immediately tuned in to my local stations and played them perfectly. So, if you do have trouble with radio reception, I'd say check your antenna. I have a upgraded antenna on my truck that is better than the old factory one mounted in the windshield, and I am getting great radio reception. All in all, if I was in the market for another stereo, I'd buy this one all over again! ... show more

  • It's great
I put it in my 97 accord wagon and it was great. It got stolen afterwards, but I will be buying it again because I like and trust it will work great again
