I am new to quilting and after many machine reviews I decided on the Juki. Great decision. Machine is fast, however it has a speed setting which is great. Not sure how I made it without the auto thread cutter or the pressure foot lifter! Great features! I was not sure when I bought this about it only being a straight stitch, however it is the main stitch I use. Anything else I can do on the Singer. Machine is very quite and well built. Heavy enough that it does not slide around like my Singer does. Very happy with the purchase. Only con is the different pressure feet need to be bought separately to fit Juki. A little pricey. As I said I new to this and so far have not determined if after market will work. ... show more

    • This machine is a workhorse and is fantastic.
I absolutely love this machine it my second machine my other is an embroidery machine. I only discovered quilting in April last year and have moved on to needed a sturdy machine. This fits the bill perfectly. I am moving on to making bags... this is perfect for that projects.. although a straight stich only its worth every penny.... get it you will not regret it.... ... show more

I purchased this machine to be my primary piecing machine for quilts. I also do alterations on garments. This machine is a beast. She can sew delicate quilt fabric with precision and never hesitates when she encounters thick seams in clothing. There is a slight learning curve on threading the machine and properly loading a bobbin. Watch a video!!!! The manual is not very clear or concise. But the machine is amazing!!!! ... show more

This was a Christmas gift from my husband. It is a fantastic sturdy machine but I had to return it because the feed dogs would go down but not back up & there was a large spot or blemish that had been recovered by touch up paint. I’ve already ordered another of the same machine from the same purveyor. I am giving them the benefit of the doubt at this point as they have made returns easy. UPS is picking this machine up tomorrow. Hopefully it’s just a fluke & the new machine arrives in perfect order :) Update! The second machine arrived quickly in perfect working order! Fantastic! BUT still waiting for my refund from previous machine. That’s usually a slower process anyway ... show more

So far, I love this Juki sewing machine. I used to have a less expensive sewing machine with lots of bells and whistles, but this one, is a straight forward, hard working machine. I do find it hard to use the automatic threader option and learning how to wind the bobbin has been tricky too, but I have only done it once or twice, so I am sure there is a learning curve. I have watched videos which help, but still it is a work in progress. Once threaded, this machine is far and away superior to every other machine I have used. It sounds smooth and its parts are sturdy and legit! I adore the thread cutter and assume it will save me lots of thread in the long run. I do miss having a zig sag stitch, but I knew that going in. So far, other than being a bit tricky to set up, once done, it is a dream. ... show more

    • Love this machine
It takes a bit of time to get used to the foot pedal with the “scissors” in the heel, but once you get the knack of it, the thigh lift and heel activated scissors make sewing with this machine so efficient. It sews beautifully and I like that you can service it yourself.
