Features

  • ATOMIC from JOYO's BantamP series is a very compact and portable 20 Watt tube head. that gives you the British clean sound, the one that has hollow mids and a beautiful bell like character. this amp delivers a briliant bite and has shaped the history of rock music through the ages.
  • The ATOMIC brings all of that history into your living room in a very compact way, you'll be amazed by the crystal clear and the cutting drive sounds. its drive channel has a great mid gain sound and is just suitable for pop/rock sounds and indie rhythms.
  • The ATOMIC also has a CLEAN channel that can take pedals really well, which makes it flexible and a great little companion for many situations where your "big" head is just not sensible. Use a TS-type pedal (like the JOYO Green Legend or Vintage Overdrive) to push it into higher gain territory and hear it sing.
  • The amp operates with a single 12AX7 tube in the preamp and uses a solid state power amp. the FX loop enables you to put your time based effects (or Phasers, Flangers and Choruses) behind the drive section and keep the effects sharp and not prevent them from being too muddy.
  • The icing on the cake is the Bluetooth connectivity is great to practice with PlayAlongs or to learn songs. Careful, the amp is small, but loud... its 20 Watts can be quite a handful. If you want to practice quietly, use the built in headphone out with speaker emulation.

  • Awesome little Vox wannabe.
This is actually the 2nd Joyo AtomiC Bantamp I have purchased on Amazon. I sold the first one and regretted it as soon as I dropped it off at the post office. These are awesome little amps for the money. I bought the original version, not the XL. I don't use a clean channel. If I need a cleaner tone, I just roll back the volume on my guitar. Now, I play a custom strat with a humbucker in the bridge and two singles. Basswood body with a maple neck/fretboard. I listen to all genres of music from polka to black metal. As for my playing, I love me some Hendrix/Band Of Gypsys and SRV. I also love Neurosis and U.S. Christmas. I also love me some Pantera and some Eric Johnson. Needless to say, I am extremely conflicted. My playing style is basically heavy southern sludgy metal with melodic bluesy leads. Vox amps were NEVER on my radar. I have been playing since I was 15. I just turned 48. I ran across these Joyo amps back in 2020, the good old days. I watched every video I could find for every model Bantamp they offer and I kept coming back to this one and the 5150 wannabe. Now, I use a fair amount of pedals so I figured I could easily make the AtomiC heavier sounding, but I wouldn't be able to make the 5150 bluesy enough and boy was I right. When I want to go full metal, I just kick on the Big Muff and let it rip. When I want some Hendrix/Trower tone, I kick on the fuzz, Green Ringer, and vibe. When I want some good old dirty Mississippi stank, I just use the amps natural gain with a little reverb and slap back through the effects loop. Don't let the size fool you, this thing is tiny, but the twenty watts is plenty loud enough for any band situation I've been in. I run it through a custom single 12" cabinet. If I need more volume, I just mic it through the PA. I wish these existed back when I was 15 and lugging Marshall stacks to gigs. I could care less about the Bluetooth. I don't use it, but it does work well. My absolute only complaint is, I can't stand the color. Green is not my color. That's nothing a little spray paint won't fix. I'll probably end up buying the 5150 wannabe and using an ABY to switch between them or run them in tandem. Who knows? The world is my oyster and this amp is the pearl. ... show more

  • TONE
If you are looking for a tube tone and feel that won't break the bank get this little green monster. Also replace the tube with a Mullard than get a Monoprice 1x12 w/celestion speaker cab.I'm going out buskin and it's going to rain $$$$ This set up sounds sooo good.I have a mesa boogie mark IV and it's staying home.I also have an old Boss ME-50 before I changed the tube out it could'nt handle the distortion without breaking up and the speaker sounds superb I'm running my Tele through and it has the bell like chime that Vox is famous for.If it worked for me it should work for you. ... show more

  • Amazing tone right on the money.
A tiny amp with big sound. Joyo created this amp (about the size of a lunch box) to mimic the Vox AC line of amps. And while it may not be perfect, it is a great amp especially for the price ($139 at the time of review). For such a low price, you might not sound exactly like Peter Buck, Cobain (Nevermind was recorded on ACs) the Edge or Brian May but you're close. And at 20 watts, it is quiet enough to practice, loud enough to play out small gigs. I played this through a custom cab with a 10 inch greenback and it sounds great, which I attribute to the tube section. The amp is solid state, but with a tube driven pre-amp. Unlike a true AC, you don't have to crank this thing to get those warm tones. The amp takes a boost pedal nicely, and will break up even more with that kind of push. The amp has a post-tube send and return for effects. I don't use a lot of pedals, but it did take chorus and reverb pedals nicely without getting muddy. The bluetooth connection is nice for playing music, and you won't find that option on a lot of similarly priced (or higher priced) micro amps. I considered several micro amps before purchasing this one. I think I made the right call. If there is a downside, it is that this amp doesn't have a true "clean" setting. Although it does have a switch that lets you choose between "clean" and "Overdrive" it should be noted that neither setting is truly clean. Even on "clean" and with the gain turned down, there is some breakup. Had a truly clean channel been included, this amp would have been beyond perfect. I still give it 5 stars because for the money this is an amp you shouldn't pass up. ... show more

  • Totally worth it
This is for the Green AtomiC AC 30 amp. I wanted an extra amp for when I had people over to jam. The clean channel isn't too clean, so it's not a great pedal platform unless you like a little drive on everything, which I don't particularly mind. It still gets plenty loud enough for a band rehearsal when paired with a 2x12 cab. I picked up a Harley Benton Vintage 30 cab for $300 with shipping. The Celestion speakers alone would be over $300 from Sweetwater. The dirty setting is fantastic and I can overdrive it with a tubescreamer clone. I run a reverb/delay through the FX loop. For under $500 I have an incredibly playable and lightweight rig that I would be comfortable playing small gigs with. And the bluetooth option is also great. It doesn't get overdriven by the amp ... show more

  • Fantastic!
It's not a brag if I say that this tube amp head is the best thing that has ever happened to my music. If tou have a decent cabinet and guitar with single coils, you should definitely try it. The Bluetooth feature is also awesome to try your awesome tone on some backing tracks.

  • No warranty information on website
The Atomic bantam sounded great and worked well for 15 months as a bedroom practice amp. Now it won’t turn on and there is no service information anywhere. Disappointing!

  • sounds great, not very loud for its rating.
Its a very nice sounding Voxy amp. Clean Vox chime only happens at lower volumes. It starts breaking up (in a really good way) at a pretty modest level. Hard to beat for the price though.
