Description

Joking Hazard is an EXTREMELY not-for-kids party game from the minds of Cyanide & Happiness, the hit webcomic. Three or more players compete to build funny and terrible comics about friendship, violence, sex, and everything in between. 360 panel cards (including 10 add-your-own-words cards) combine to form millions of awful situations, and sometimes nice ones. High quality cards can be burned for heat after society collapses. From the Manufacturer $3,246,588 raised with 63,758 backers. The Best, Worst Card Game Joking Hazard is an offensive card game where you compete to finish awful comics! It's a game that is equal parts creative storytelling and feeling bad about yourself. The damaged minds behind Cyanide & Happiness created it, so don't let grandma play unless you want her to die of a broken heart. Unlimited Possibilities Each box contains 360 cards, including 10 write-your-own words cards, allowing for millions of possible combinations and jokes. And the rules themselves are flexible and remix-able, with countless alternate ways to play. The Deck Plays First The judging player (referred to as the judge) flips the top card off the draw pile. The Judge Plays Second That player then adds one of their own cards on either side, making the setup. Everyone Else Plays Third The players who aren't the judge put in their best punchline, facedown. The judge shuffles and picks the funniest. A Uniquely Creative Game Unlike other adult party games where the writers get to have all the real fun, Joking Hazard puts the creative control in the players' hands. Each comic is a tiny little story you're creating from scratch. That story can go in a direction as good or terrible as you are. • If you dont get it, your doing it wrong.
Color: White
I have played cards against humanity. And I have to say, where some of it is funny, I hate missing the joke because I'm not as educated or pop culture savvy to get the joke. A joke isn't usually funny if you have to explain it, and google is tired of having to explain things like why one historical event being like Michael Jackson is funny. So, I thought a game with pictures and less words would be a nice change. I like pictures. And I was right, I always get the joke. Even when the cards dont match up quite right because we are drunk and tired of holding the random " two dudes glaring at each other" card in our hands. OI just bust out laughing, and then everyone asks me what I got they didn't, and now we are talking about how some guy showing some other guy his penis then having a chick walk away pissed, only to glare at each other, is funny. And even if I fail at explaining this, the fact I even tired to explain something so random as that, ends up making me laugh further. The sudden uncomfortable vibe I get from everyone around me as they watch me snort and snot on myself as I laugh uncontrollable on the verge of hyperventilating all while trying to speak and explain the epic story three cards managed to make.... that, that is worth it. Now, at this point you are probably not reading anything I have to say. I mean, if you read the overall description of this product you would know its literally offensive and not for children. And LITTERALLY is meant for special needs people like myself that find joy in uncontrolled snot laughter that makes my guests uncomfortable. But, if you did happen to read this far, please read the last two sentences again but this time pretend I'm just describing the game and not the stuff you didn't read about the game. And now you can consider yourself warned and hopefully make better life choices than buying this game and then giving it a bad review because you chose not to read. ... show more

  • and play until i don't have a good variety in my hand or i am low
Color: White
contains sexual, drug/alcohol, and offensive cards...which are HILARIOUS...if you have that type of a sense of humor. this is a much easier game to play than CAH for a larger group/a group who can't stay fully focused on a game. or, if you want to try some suggested alternative game plays i will later explain, livelier, more thought intensive, or faster paced. it's easier than reading a bunch of cards out loud, and is more capitavating thanks to the pictures. we have bought both expansion packs that have been released so far, and they're a seamless addition to the main game. i have also played a few of my own creative ways. these require more cards in your hand. i usually use around 20, and play until i don't have a good variety in my hand or i am low. one alternative gameplay is to flip one card up, and make it a race to get a great following card down first and make a short story out of it. it ends when you run out of room or feel the story is done. you can make one long story out of it (this is good for 2-3 players) just to see how interesting you can make it. i have also played where its two people and you just play off one card at a time rather than make a long story. you can race to be able to put several down in a row, or play for the perfect laugh and end up searching for a particular card once you're familiar with it. you can also take a more relaxed twist and roll dice and assign numbers to categories in which you have to pick a card related to, or the number can tell the person how many cards to put down to continue the story. these alternatives do not have any winner, but it is faster paced or requires a longer focus time, and is generally more entertaining and lively. ... show more

  • Gave as a Christmas Gift and Easy to Play Quickly
Color: White
I bought this as a present for my brother. It must not have been his thing because it never comes up as an option when we're looking for a game to play. It also is completely based on a matching sense of humor. I think it's not such a good family game as it can create uncomfortable proposals, but for friends with the same sense of humor, it is a great game. ... show more

  • You and your messed up friends - rejoice!
Color: White
If you've been wishing for something fresh to replace Cards Against Humanity, wish no longer and pick up Joking Hazard! This game has a similar premise to CAH, in that the judge plays the set up, the remaining players play the punchline, and the judge chooses their favorite with the winner getting a point. However, playing in an animated comic format adds a lot to the humor and leads to some truly hilarious and surprising results. I would also say that a good 97% of the cards are fantastic, and there are so few instances of "throwaway rounds" where you just can't put something together because a card is too obscure/unfunny. Our group ended up playing the whole box our first time playing, and all commented how much fun we had. We're already hoping for expansion packs! Also like CAH, this game is for those with a pretty "messed up" sense of humor, and is ABSOLUTELY NOT appropriate for kids, your mom, or your friends that are beyond moral reproach. There is no shortage of middle fingers, death by cancer/AIDS/suicide jokes, sex acts, etc. That said, and note I've already established that I'm one of those "messed up sense of humor" people, I never felt anything was just for shock value and SO offensive as to not be funny. I've removed cards from other card games for just being plain terrible, but all the cards here manage to find that balance in my opinion. So if this sounds like the type of ridiculousness that you and your friends get up to, place the order already! ... show more
