This is a bit thicker than the color-protect conditioner which I have been adding a detangler to. But this conditioner doesn’t require the detangler, so I’m beyond thrilled! I have very fine, thin hair that for whatever reason gets so tangled, and I’ve had to use a detangler since childhood (I am 54yo). My hair is straight, medium to fine, and frizzy. In addition to that, I live in a dry climate. If I use any product to offset dryness and frizz, my hair becomes limp and heavy, and appears dirty within a few hours. I tried a bunch of different products and finally decided that I'll just have to live with ugly hair. Joico is different . The shampoo cleanses without drying and the conditioner left my hair soft and silky to the touch without weighing it down. My hair actually appears to have volume.
