The stand is sturdy and tall enough that I don't have to lay on the ground to read it. You can also take the non-breakable tube out to read. My only problem is that there are only three hash marks below the 1/2" mark and three above it, so calculating actual rainfall is a bit iffy. Most gauges have four, indicating 0.1" each, which are more accurate. ... show more
