This is my review of the, Jlong Roller Shades for Indoor Windows Temporary Blackout Curtains No Drill Cordless Blinds for Windows Privacy Protection Window Shades for Bedroom Living Room (1, Black, 47" Wx71 H) I liked that this product, made as a temporary solution, has excellent adhesive. Its adhesive is very sticky, yet after three days of being stuck to paint, it peeled off without removing even the tiniest bit of paint! I was pretty impressed with this. It also blocks out all light, as advertised. For a temporary job it is a good product, but that's kind of where it ends. After hanging for a few days, the fold marks had not smoothed out, so I tried steaming them out. An iron that is a little too hot could easily melt the fabric, so be careful if you decide to try this. Maybe a thick cotton towel between the iron and shade would work. The posted pictures have three levels of lighting and show the lines in a brightly lit room. They tend to be less noticeable in a more dimly lit room. It would be great for a garage or dark room, where looks are not a deciding factor. Its roll-up is done by rolling it up on this PVC tube and using the clear plastic clips, as shown in the pictures. It is rolled up about 10 inches. There are better-looking curtains than this one, but it is entirely functional. If a more permanent install is required, some black-headed tacks will do the trick. Its price is relatively reasonable, and with its limits taken into account, I recommend this product. ... show more

Velcro is already applied at the top of the curtain, so you just have to apply the included opposite piece to the top of your window trim. There is a passage for the included tubes to roll it up with on the bottom of the curtain. Assemble the tube with the included tape to make it one piece and more solid than expected and insert into the passage. Insert side pieces to help guide the roll when you roll up the curtain to open the window to light, and use the included clips to keep the roll in the upright position. Leaving the curtain wider than your window (even overhanging your side trim) lets the curtain lay flush against your window trim keeping all the light out and the weight of the bottom roll tube lets it remain flush against the bottom. No light will get it. This is also a thicker fabric than most blackout shades. Its very well thought out and works great. Be forewarned that it is longer than most windows are tall, so you will either have to let it hang low, or keep it rolled some when the shade is deployed. The spring loaded clips to keep the roll taught are better than expected too. Definitely recommend this shade. I've tried several and this is the best one to have the shade rolled up to still let light in when desired in a neat and orderly fashion. ... show more

This window shade works perfectly for my needs! I prefer a completely dark room, and this shade blocks out light far better than my blackout curtains. The flush-to-the-wall design ensures excellent light coverage. While don't roll it up often, it might be inconvenient for frequent use since it's manually operated. Installation was quick and easy--no drill needed-though did have to tape the bar in place as it didn't secure properly (see photo). This roller shade does roll, but not like I expected. It is not a spring roller like the old time white roller shade. It has a plastic tube that you assemble and put through the bottom slot. This is what you roll up by hand and put clips on it to hold it in place (height you want). Watch the video in the description to see this and how to install. It was easy to install and does block out the light well. it does feel like it is made pretty well, looks fine, and does what it is supposed to do. ... show more

These Jlong Roller Shades are an effective solution for anyone needing quick, no-drill blackout curtains! They attach to your window using Velcro, which makes installation super easy—but here’s a tip: make sure you place them in exactly the right spot the first time. Once they're stuck, they’re really stuck! Moving them later is a struggle; the Velcro feels almost super-glued to the window and can leave behind a bit of a sticky mess. But if you cut them to the correct length and get the positioning right, they look fantastic! These shades give a clean, sleek appearance and block out light very well, creating a nice darkened space—perfect for bedrooms or living rooms.
