So, I have very fair skin. I’m talking very Casper like. And I have had some very awful experiences with self tanners turning me orange, and also having lots of streaks. So I was nervous buying this. But this stuff is LEGIT. I used the fair to medium lotion and I saw results within the first couple of hours after use! I’m not the person who likes to be super tan, but I do like a little color! It left minimal streaks (not noticeable at all unless you point them out) and the smell is fresh!. I simply exfoliated with my sugar scrub and did my daily shower routine, I patted dry just a little bit, applied the lotion, and I let myself air dry for about 2 minutes or so before actually drying off with my towel. It also leaves your skin SUPER soft. I have overall very dry skin and my skin has never felt better. I highly recommend this if you’re looking for a little bit of color for the summer time! This product is great unless you have age spots. Those spots will be emphasized by this product—but manufacturers don’t & won’t tell you that. Therefore, if you think it will cover or blend age spots away & make you look nicely tanned all over, you’re wrong. My opinion: It’s not for you. I honestly have no idea how this should be properly used, because per the instructions ain’t it. I’m Casper levels of pale and use the non-wet glow version yearly, so I’m used to using a similar product for a gradual tan that makes me look pleasingly less like a cadaver. I decided to give this version a go three days ago and it has been a hilarious series of WTFs ever since. I did my shower thing including gentle exfoliation and, per the instructions and common sense, applied evenly to my damp skin. I let it soak in completely while I got ready for a wedding. Thank GOD I was wearing a midi with long sleeves, because, within an hour, I was Gob from Arrested Development: “I’ve made a huge mistake.” Pros It certainly does add color to your skin—probably 3 shades after first application Not too orangey Moisturizing Mehs Ok maybe a little orangey Cons No matter how you apply (and I’m a massage therapist for gods sake, it’s the one thing I am sure I can do), you will look like a Jackson Polluck painting and/or like you peed yourself and the pee tracks removed the color, but all over Will I be returning it? No, because I have convinced myself I can fix this and have had some success strategically applying to completely dry skin and standing like a statue until it dries. I’m way darker than I was aiming for after two applications but I’m hoping I’ll cover the most inconsistent spots before my naturally tan SIL can give me the “oh honey” face when we get together in Mexico in three days. This product works well for me. I follow the instructions, putting it in wet skin and patting dry. I don’t see any noticeable streaks or splotchy areas. I’m not looking for a perfect tan, I just wanted to not have ghost white legs to start the summer. I’m a mom of young kids and I don’t have a lot of time for myself - this product is easy and fast to use and I don’t have to sit around waiting for it to dry. I really love this stuff. I used to be an avid sun worshiper. stopped because he started getting concerned about what was doing in my skin and I have a bit of sun damage from all the laying out I did on my chest and shoulders, and I wanted to find a sunless tanning crane that looked really natural that could kind of blend away the sun damage, and maybe spot touch a little on my face if I wanted some color on my cheeks, my nose, my forehead, to make it sort of look like I was in the sun without continuing to lay in it and I love this because as soon as you get out of the shower I just pat dry a little bit and then apply this just one coat. TIP make sure when you get down to your knees and calves that you apply kind of in like circular or back-and-forth motions as well as up-and-down because that’s the only place when you really apply self tanner that it can tend to get streaky, but if you do kind of circular, massaging back-and-forth, up-and-down, round and round motions on the knees and calves down to the feet area, then it blends nicely for my face. I just kind of put it on my fingertips and go cheeks, temples up above eyebrows, and a little bit right in the middle of my eyelid where I would put eyeshadow and touch on the bridge of my nose and it really gives you a Sunkiss look last for probably two weeks and when it fades it just fades delicately you don’t have this blotchy fake fade. Also. It doesn’t look like that silly orange I go medium light in this and it looks really natural and if you want to go slightly darker, you can add another coat but I don’t think it’s necessary because it just brings your natural skin color down about two shades, and smooth out the skin, I put it on in the morning after a shower. I leave it on for probably four or five hours and then I rinse it off. Have to get out of the shower if you put on your clothes it won’t stain at all.
