    • Decent camera, but the instructions leave out a very major detail!

The camera works well and is a decent value, once you figure out how to hook it up! The instructions give you the basics, but there's a pretty glaring mistake... It tells you that if you use option 1 for power (which is tapping into the reverse light wire on your car), that you do not use the power wire attached to the yellow video cable. THIS IS INCORRECT! They don't tell you this, but the backup camera needs to be sending power to the "camera in" wire on the harness opposite of the camera video input. If it doesn't get power, it doesn't show the camera when you put it in reverse. I ended up wiring the backup camera power to my reverse light, as well as tapping the power wire on the video cable to that reverse light power as well, then hooking the other end of the video cable power wire to the "camera in" wire at the radio harness. It took me an extra hour to track down why the camera wasn't showing when I put it in reverse... It would have been nice if the instructions were correct! ... show more
