  • Works for me!
I used this for drilling a pilot hole for setting 6-8” wood posts with my post driver. Go easy with the bit and clear the dirt out frequently and it will work just fine. I am using it on a Dewalt 20v and actually cut the bit and welded a piece of 1” pipe on to make it over 3’ long. When I was using it after about 12” of top soil there is about another 12” of black clay/soil and then after that it’s hard red clay. ... show more

  • I laughed when I bought it but it surprised me
I live in central nc where we have rock more rock and clay so I bought this a joke prior to a project we used it to tunnel under our side walk to run drain pipe I was surprised how well it drilled through the dirt

  • It's HUGE but be careful
The media could not be loaded. we started the hole with a battery operated drill and finished it with a brand new electric drill but I can only upload one video so I can't show both but here's what happened. It worked GREAT at creating the hole, no problems there BUT... When we used our BRAND NEW battery powered drill to create one hole it overheated and we had to stop before the hole was finished so he switched out to a BRAND NEW electric drill and by the time we were finished (apx 30 seconds) the new electric drill was smoking and ended up fried but the battery powered one is okay because he stopped in time. The bit itself is great but it is really hard on your equipment and it cost us an expensive piece of equipment. He has been building homes, small engine repair and doing handyman work his entire life so he knew what he was doing, it wasn't exactly a human error thing but in hindsight, do your hole bit-by-bit, don't dig the entire hole in one try, take breaks even on the smallest project and check your drill often. Our project was creating a hole to put a fence pole in for a chicken coop run and the hole wasn't exactly excessive but using the bit is just really really hard on your drill. It didn't start smoking until he finished, immediately after I stopped filming so the drill was ruined before we ever knew there was a problem and the drill ran for only the short time shown in the video. Overall the bit itself is great but be VERY careful with your equipment. To use it just to plant a bulb it should be okay but I don't recommend using it for fence post holes of any size because the bit itself will do it but your drilling equipment might not. *If this review helped you let me know by hitting the Helpful button. • It works and it’s a real back saver
I got this auger to dig fence post holes. In the past I have used a post hole digger and a sharp shooter shovel and the process really wore me out. The soil in my area is dense clay and post holes need to be 24 inches deep. I put this auger on my 3/8 drill and it dug post holes with ease. I still used my post hole digger to remove soil from the post holes but no back breaking digging. It works. ... show more

  • Awesome addition to my tool collection
I just received the auger bit went to go try it out and ended up drilling all four holes within about 15 minutes very heavy duty but light weight I just used my regular drill. The one thing i did notice was you have to be careful because once it grabs the dirt it will go down quickly I highly recommend this tool ... show more

  • Wow…. Amazing!
Who knew there was a piece of equipment like this!!! We live in an area with horrible soil. Trying to dig a hole can take hours since it seems like solid rock. This attaches to your drill and within minutes I was able to create a deep hole needed for a support pole. Be prepared to have to charge your battery often since it does use a lot of power. Really impressed with the results!!! ... show more

  • From 3/8 socket to 11/16.
FYI, if you use an impact drill, you will chip away the paint on the hex shaft and it becomes a 11/16 socket not 3/8.
