JACO SMARTPRO 2.0 AC/DC Digital Tire Inflator. I was looking for a pump to keep in the garage for use primarily with AC power. Digital air gauge accuracy, auto-shut off and a threaded valve stem connector are must-have features for me. Screw-on valve connectors are more reliable in my experience and less likely to weaken and wear out than the lever-type chucks. I have another pump (12V only) in one car which is fine for emergency use but the plug gets disturbingly hot if used for more than six minutes at a time. This JACO pump is designed for household 120 VAC or automotive 12 VDC operation. Users are well-protected from burns by the plastic case and forced-air cooling. This JACO pump fits the bill for me. It seems sturdily made. It is designed to run a continuous 20 minutes without overheating (more than plenty for servicing two cars). The air gauge accuracy is +/- 1 PSI. This pump has a lighted display panel that is viewed by the user from above and not from the side (wrong) plus an LED red warning/white work light. The usual inflation adapters are included plus a spare DC fuse. The operating instructions are useful. The fabric storage case is high quality and lightly padded. Auto inflation value and pressure unit settings are saved when the pump is powered off and will be ready for the next use. The auto shut-off feature works very well. Set the target pressure for your tire, turn the pump on and it will shut itself off when that pressure is reached. This saves a lot of time if you are topping off all tires on one or two vehicles. After shut-off wait a couple of seconds and the display will show final pressure. My final pressure indicates 1/2 PSI higher than what I dialed in but this is OK with me as tires always lose a little pressure when unscrewing the valve stem connector. This pump also includes a handy deflation valve near the connector. Press this button control to bleed off excess air if needed. There is a storage compartment provided inside the lower pump body. I stow the DC cord/plug and air hose in there when not in use. I keep the AC cord inside the fabric case alongside the pump. There is a small pocket with a velcro-type closure on one end of the fabric case for accesories. NOTE 1). There are two ON/OFF switches used for inflation. On the back panel of the unit there is a switch marked AC / OFF / DC. Set this switch first. The cooling fan will turn on when set to AC or DC if power is connected and whether the pump is running or not. On top of the carry handle there is a correctly located ON / OFF switch for the pump. NOTE 2). This inflator can be set for three different pressure units: PSI, BAR and kPa. My JACO was purchased in the USA but arrived with the pressure units feature set to BAR (metric) instead of PSI. This may be reset with the unit powered on and the "M" button cycled until the desired unit (PSI in my case) appears on the digital display (in tiny letters on bottom line of display). This JACO model is well-priced with features like AC/DC operation and auto inflation shut-off taken into consideration. I hope to get a long service life out of this one. ... show more

    • WORKS GREAT, ACCURATE, CONVENIENT, SAVES ME $$$
Used it today for the first time. Filled EIGHT car tires (two cars) to 43 psi. All were under 20 psi to start with. I especially like that when you connect the hose to the tire valve, the unit shows how much air is already in there. Easy to set your target pressure, then turn it on. It does about 1 psi every 9 to 10 seconds. so will do about 6 lbs. per min. But that's a lot faster than the rip-off air compressors at locak gas stations. They cost $1 in quarters and I"m lucky if I can get ONE tire filled with one dollar. They work for a few minutes and stop, then it's time for another dollar. I figure I saved about $5 per car today. Don't recall how long all 8 tires took but most of that time was time spent going from tire to tire, then moving to the 2nd car. The DC power cord is long enough to place the unit next to each tire, as long as you set up from your car power socket directly to the tire being filled. Obviously, you can't walk a 360 around your car while carrying it, or it would have to be 50' long. The DC power cord DOES NOT disconnect from the unit. It's wired in. The AC cord does plug in to the unit if you need it. Both cords and the air hose all fit nicely under the unit. As for accuracy, it appears to be very accurate. It shows psi in half-pound increments, by decimal (0.5). I also bought the JACO tire pressure gauge "JACO ElitePro Tire Pressure Gauge - 60 PSI" which has a dial instead of digital readout. Did not want something that had to rely on a battery. I got that directly from their website because they had a better promo going. Comparing the two devices for accuracy, they BOTH read the same psi down to the tenths, so you can trust these. The compressor comes with 4 types of tips to use depending on what you're filling. You can read the product info about it. AS A RULE, I BUY FROM COMPANIES WITH NAMES I CAN PRONOUNCE. Not sellers that look like a random lottery of letters. JACO appears to be genuinely dedicated to selling quality products. I have no photos because all you would see is the unit connected to the tire.
